  1. We got another new GrayONE client... WTOK Meridian, Miss.
  2. The ARC format spreads to WCHS on its FOX subchannel as ARC Appalachia, airing from 8:00-9:00 a.m. Its the first time they go on at that hour and provide WQCW some competition.
  3. The only problem I see with that is that KYMA is operated by News-Press and Gazette Company, which also owns KECY and KESE.
  4. Yeah, I was gonna say. The rest, ehh... but WHBQ and KOKI? Those are the grand daddy of them all. Nexstar, Gray, and TEGNA can't get involved in Memphis, neither can Scripps, Griffin, or Sinclair in Tulsa. So there's really no company that can get those two stations together without some kind of conflict of interest.
  5. I was about to post this because the news stunned me. Nashville now lost its status as being the only market where all four chief meteorologists... were female (Danielle Breezy, Chief at WKRN; Lisa Spencer, Chief at WSMV; Bree Smith, "Chief" at WTVF (quotes loosely since they never had an official chief ever since Ron Howes retired), and Katy Morgan, Chief at WZTV).
  6. Legendary Chicago journalist Jim Williams is entering semi-retirement so Thursday is his last day full-time at WBBM. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10233713025183879&id=1127803631
  7. This is the final straw for me. I've officially lost all respect for Allen. I hope they sell soon because Allen has no place in broadcasting.
  8. Once again, a story on why radio is important. 102.9 WPBK-FM, a small station, being featured on WLEX-TV 18.
  9. WVLA/WGMB now goes by Louisiana First News. It has taken the WKRN route in terms of the graphics. https://www.brproud.com/news/fox-44-nbc-33-news-is-now-louisiana-first-news/
  10. KABC-TV is having signal issues this morning and due to obvious reasons from the Eaton Fire getting close to the TV transmitter tower there at Mount Wilson. Thankfully, we live in an era where if the signal goes out, streaming picks right back up and continues the coverage.
  11. WWTV/WWUP are launching their own daily weather program on TV. However, they need the viewers' help in determining when the program, Beyond The Forecast, will be on. It will be a half-hour program. https://www.9and10news.com/2025/01/09/poll-when-would-you-watch-our-new-weather-show-beyond-the-forecast/
  12. A South Texas staple is about to hang up one career for another. Rudy Trevino is retiring as a news anchor at KIII Corpus Christi tomorrow and will trade in that career for one in education at Texas A&M Univ.-Kingsville as their new Professor of Practice and director of a future academic center focused on collecting and studying Tejano music and media. He WILL remain with KIII though to continue to host Domingo Live, a show he's hosted for the past 23 years now. I didn't know until now that he also does a radio show as host and executive producer of the nationally syndicated Tejano Gold Countdown radio show that has been a Tejano music staple for going on 30 years (according to the TA&M Kingsville release). https://www.kiiitv.com/article/news/local/rudy-trevio-to-join-texas-am-kingsville-continue-as-domingo-live-host/503-181bb469-5105-4970-8a8d-aad2191f5f76
  13. Welcome back to the national scene, Kate! This will be her first time on national television since her AccuWeather days.
  14. What a terrible situation Angelinos are going through. Just completely awful.
  15. I know. I understand it's not. It was in the heat of the moment that it's astonishing.
  16. The NBC Sports FAST channel is now known as NBC Sports NOW. They're also bringing back The Lights (the former, but very brief, NBCSN highlights program) as the NBC Sports Highlight Factory. https://www.nbcsports.com/pressbox/press-releases/nbc-sports-fast-channel-re-branded-to-nbc-sports-now-and-highlighted-by-free-24-7-programming-renowned-daily-sports-shows-and-live-events
  17. Oh cool, more fights and heated arguments. Again, it should've been canceled a long time ago, and yet is being expanded. I really don't get it.
  18. KNTV was probably the longest stop in Terry McSweeney's long and legendary career. He retired last night after a twelve-year run there and more than four decades in journalism, with stops at KTXL, WPBF, KSAZ, WTEN, and even KGO along the way before rejoining KNTV for the second time. He was also there from 1987 to 1995. https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/nbc-bay-area-longtime-anchor-terry-mcsweeney-retires/3752027/
  19. It looks like Lindsey Mastis has left WJLA-TV Washington, D.C., and seems to be getting out of the TV news business to enter the tech and AI industries. https://www.facebook.com/LindseyMastisJournalist/posts/pfbid02LoBGcc7ZmASbdHFhw1pbnQLcas96uvuLxUq4WQVaXa99x7a91C7nSEmuqi4zgxaol
  20. One of the best meteorologists in the history of Capital Region television is hanging it up and retiring on June 30th. However, Pet Connection will still be around. https://www.news10.com/top-stories/steve-caporizzo-i-know-it-is-time/
  21. Because TEGNA is eliminating marketing and community affairs departments across the country, it will force one Columbus news legend to say goodbye to WBNS come January 17th. https://www.yahoo.com/news/columbus-tv-legend-angela-pace-182133572.html
  22. 30 years at KMBC for one of KC's best. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1133892581417284&id=100043896591184
  23. Yeah I was surprised in a YT video and was like... huh?! She must've either been tired or only did the 10pm that day (since 11pm was the NYE from ABC).
  24. I think AMG needs to sell their stations and stop producing most of their low budget programming. It's becoming pretty obvious within the last year or two that they can't do broadcasting right.
  25. Put this under the note of I didn't see that one coming... Stacia Naquin has left WSYX as of today. https://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/stacia-naquin-signs-off-at-abc-6fox28?fbclid=IwY2xjawHkNztleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHXXV5P9Rs7REP9mKu59zEHz2N1ofvWEIsRRlv5CxwVcUDWbqW4yDFvoPng_aem_26oOkPh7RKcX04S1FOYQug
