  1. Judy Maggio is back at KVUE Austin for this month only. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=989859449846133&id=100064662615152
  2. One of the best meteorologists in the history of Jacksonville television will soon call it a career next year. May 30th, 2025 will be his last day, literary a day prior to the start of the next hurricane season. Yes, this article does disclaim that he is married to THE Jacksonville mayor (and former FCN anchor) Donna Deegan. https://www.firstcoastnews.com/article/news/local/chief-meteorologist-tim-deegan-to-retire-after-40-years-at-first-coast-news/77-fd33b7a9-b387-4bbb-ab1d-6cf0b89f3e37#:~:text=up in 5-,Chief Meteorologist Tim Deegan to retire after 42 years at,PM EDT November 1%2C 2024
  3. I can confirm via a source that WSVN 7 is the only South Florida station with a brick-and-mortar presence in both counties, in way of studio and news bureau. WFOR is still in Doral but doesn't have a Broward bureau while WTVJ and WPLG's studios are in Broward but don't have a Miami-Dade news bureau. WSVN has theirs in NBV (for now, Miramar is coming) with a news bureau in FTL (again, for now). I was also able to confirm that even when WSVN moves to Miramar, they'll convert part of their NBV space into a small news bureau for Miami-Dade.
  4. WBOC is looking for a new Chief Meteorologist because, after 12 years, WBOC's Chief Meteorologist Dan Satterfield has decided to call it a career. https://www.wboc.com/news/wboc-chief-meteorologist-dan-satterfield-retires/video_d5e0c75f-6360-5302-b0dd-a56828767926.html
  5. Ugh. Another anchor has died. This time... KCEN's Kris Radcliffe who was there for 22 years. https://www.kcentv.com/article/about-us/beloved-6-news-anchor-kris-radcliffe-died/500-6c17fc34-093e-4fd3-86a0-d12ecae6a140
  6. And only temporary until Election Day. Listings have Judge Judy going back to the 4pm timeslot after it.
  7. WPTA's Chris Daniels did his last forecast for the Fort Wayne station last Friday. He is now retired. https://www.facebook.com/mattleachweather/posts/pfbid045FAoY16wkPuY327q5RG5XmqD67GDUgei6gbQ7AgHwUJ28LZ5r7TEgjQGiYS8X5bl
  8. With WBNX being bought by Nexstar and will become a CW O&O out of it, WUAB next fall will be part RESN and part MyNetworkTV. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/more-live-local-sports-my-network-programming-on-wuab-cleveland-next-fall/
  9. Already decided. WUAB next fall will be part RESN and part MyNetworkTV. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/more-live-local-sports-my-network-programming-on-wuab-cleveland-next-fall/
  10. The news keeps getting worse. We lost a WWL original: Eric Paulsen died today too. https://www.fox8live.com/2024/10/26/beloved-wwl-tv-anchor-eric-paulsen-dies-after-battle-with-cancer/?fbclid=IwY2xjawGKNABleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHXIQcyVt5e0LESQIhu2w-q1sZyLEo0gmURM3zDe7cEKNVAaji_VI2AxeXQ_aem_ZRD88oL0r3-BK5xYZLOS6w
  11. Today is a very sad day across Northeast Ohio media (and on my birthday nonetheless. ). The great, legendary Jim Donovan, has passed away. Cancer took Jimmy away from us at only 68. https://www.wkyc.com/article/entertainment/television/jim-donovan-former-wkyc-sports-anchor-cleveland-browns-radio-voice-passes-away-68/95-36aabdb8-47ab-49e5-b1aa-521f0497f688?fbclid=IwY2xjawGKE9RleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHdWcsJ03tKfm2gT_bVTWupX6-wRoQoFPIqj_Q2EmupYd3T6-8yEUZtcJ2w_aem_mwiVPFEoLfpbB2876Hnqqg
  12. Bringing this back up as they're part of a feature piece on AM Radio from this morning's CBS Saturday Morning.
  13. This is a Sinclair station, not a Nexstar one, so it was expected.
  14. This was expected, somewhat, as a site I can't name here reported that as part of the TWC layoffs, most if not all of the Storm Center staff got whacked, so the writing was on the wall for that program.
  15. Mexico The Mexican boss of the 8,000-ton gorilla that is Televisa has resigned as he's now connected to a FIFA bribery scheme. https://thedesk.net/2024/10/grupo-televisa-emilio-azcarraga-resigns/
  16. It doesn't say the official reason here, but I think we all know why, based on timing: He is becoming the replacement for soon-to-be retiring anchor Devin Scillian at WDIV. https://thedesk.net/2024/10/kcra-ty-steele-where-is-he-detroit/
  17. Brad Pautsch made it happen. He stuck around in a small market for 34 years at KTIV Sioux City, and made it work, becoming an instant well-known local guy for sports. Unfortunately, he passed away days ago. He was only 58. https://www.ktiv.com/2024/10/21/brad-pautsch-ktivs-long-time-sports-director-passes-away/
  18. Covering 31 Masters and countless breaking news stories in Augusta must've been enough for Richard Rogers at WRDW/WAGT. He has now officially retired as of almost 90 minutes ago. https://www.wrdw.com/2024/10/22/wrdw-tvwagt-tv-anchor-richard-rogers-retire/
  19. R.I.P. ABC's Tom Jarriel. He was 89. https://abcnews.go.com/US/former-abc-news-anchor-tom-jarriel-dies-89/story?id=115120826
  20. Canada There will be a new boss at the helm of CBC/Radio-Canada come early next year. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cbc-new-ceo-bouchard-1.7359375
  21. Mully and Haugh have been a popular radio show on 670 WSCR for the last 15 years. They finally got their TV debut as of this week on CHSN. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=964270315719056&id=100064082883824
  22. Yes. He did well in evenings in my market at WSVN 7 for a good number of years. I think he has what it takes.
  23. Just saw this on WCJB as they suffered through technical difficulties at the end of tonight's delayed 11pm news. They were airing paid programming as temporarily breakfiller before joining ABC's feed for JKL.
  24. I'm in Gainesville once again for a vacation trip (for a week+) and I'm currently watching WCJB at the moment. They have launched GrayONE but ONLY (emphasizing this) on promos, idents, and select bumpers, such as promoting their free news and weather apps during their newscasts, so its more of a soft launch than anything else. Old graphics still dominate everything else, including the weather. It tells me that WCJB is taking a cautious approach to launching GrayONE and that it will be great once they do (compared to their current look which even now is an improvement from their last look, the last Diversified look they had).
  25. A big loss in Michiana television and one I was stunned to learn of today. WSBT and later WBND's Jennifer Copeland has passed away after battling ovarian cancer. The tragic part in all of this... she was only 46. https://www.abc57.com/news/star-michiana-anchor-jennifer-copeland-passes-away-at-46-10-18-24
