  1. Amanda Holly is Leigh Spann's replacement in the morning come next month at WFLA. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1077301010431333&id=100044543314679
  2. For 22 years, Spectrum News 1 has delivered news to those in North Carolina. The other Carolina, South Carolina, is about to experience what North Carolina has had that entire time. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/spectrum-news-expands-debuting-new-network-in-south-carolina/
  3. I didn't know where else to put this so I'm putting it here. SiriusXM has added Dateline NBC 24/7 on SXM 107 and NBC News NOW on streaming 798. NBC News NOW is the first streaming news network (albeit on streaming/online, ironically enough) to land a spot on SiriusXM's lineup. ABC News LIVE, CBS News 24/7, or LiveNOW from FOX have yet to land spots on the service.
  4. We have a HUGE retirement in Toledo coming up at WTVG. After 40 years with the station and currently anchoring their 12 Noon, 5:00, and 6:00pm newscasts, Diane Larson calls it a career. The longtime duo of Diane Larson and Lee Conklin will be broken up on her last day... Nov. 14th at 6:00pm. https://www.13abc.com/2024/10/16/13-action-news-anchor-diane-larson-retire-november/
  5. KAKM (via Alaska Public Media) is buying KTVA.
  6. And yet, WZZM is letting Samantha Jacques take over. Hell, even if Terri were to join WZZM and become Chief, she would still follow Sam's route in still doing it in the morning. Also, remember that it says that she's only doing it three days a week so she wants it part-time to then do other things in her life so I don't think WZZM was in the cards for her.
  7. Second Update: CHCH has revealed the employee who passed away a week ago. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=964139372419634&id=100064707394920
  8. Canada This is THE coolest thing ever. You know you've made it when your country's postal service creates a stamp after you or something culturally significant. In this case... Canada's first-ever 24-hour music video channels (English in 1984; French in 1986) took Canada by storm and changed the way Canadians accessed music on television. Ladies and gentlemen... Canada Post stamps for MuchMusic and MusiquePlus. https://store.canadapost-postescanada.ca/store-boutique/en/414262111/p/muchmusic-musiqueplus-2024-permanent-domestic-rate-stamps-booklet-of-8
  9. Speaking of... This is a HUGE get for WXMI. Terri DeBoer is coming back to West Michigan Television in mid-November on WXMI's Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday editions of their morning news. https://www.fox17online.com/news/local-news/meteorologist-terri-deboer-joins-fox-17-morning-news
  10. Kansas City's first-ever full-time local Spanish-language newscasts have launched on KGKC Telemundo 39. Its two weeknight half-hour newscasts at 5:00 and 10:00 p.m. https://www.kctv5.com/2024/10/13/new-spanish-language-local-newscast-set-broadcast-kansas-city/
  11. Just aired on WPLG...
  12. So she goes from a national presence with WeatherNation (mainly nights with Jesse Kelley) to a more local one with WXMI.
  13. My best wishes to WCVB Boston's Doug Meehan after being rushed to a hospital for a medical emergency. https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2024/10/14/channel-5-anchor-rushed-to-hospital-for-health-emergency/?s_campaign=bcom%3Asocialflow%3Afacebook&utm_campaign=bdc_Facebook&fbclid=IwY2xjawF6jQZleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHayIgIn_g363oQd0wYV3NDzM3L6fvvUgf_juSJj8P1N3xOjfL6MYRx-p5A_aem_eaOX342k7OL5Zpbd0Xmg-Q
  14. Abner Euresti has made it to 50 years at KCBD-TV Lubbock. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/gray-media_grayfamily-grayproud-activity-7251215114429698048-9i2s?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android
  15. Radio is IMPORTANT. Want further proof? The CBS Evening News put a spotlight on Asheville's iHeart's 570 WWNC for being a lifeline during Hurricane Helene's aftermath.
  16. Anne-Marie Green has left CBS News Mornings (4am + 7am stream) to join the team at 48 Hours.
  17. I will say this... its NOT the regular TWC.
  18. I won't say what's going on lately as the info I'm getting is from a source that I can't mention here. However, I'm hearing of very big cuts at Allen once again that are leading to one network's possible last time covering a hurricane as we speak.
  19. Also, Gray's expansion into sports continues via South Dakota. No, not a 24-hour channel like in other places, but high school football from a partnership with Metro Sports TV. https://www.dakotanewsnow.com/2024/08/12/dakota-news-now-expands-partnership-with-metro-sports-tv-high-school-sports-coverage/
  20. Looks like a nice sending-off party too on Saturday on his way out. I know he's joining WPTV. However, look at the post... He is heading down to Florida for his new position as a chief meteorologist. Is Steve Weagle retiring? I know this is a WPVI thread, not necessarily a WPTV one, but still... https://www.facebook.com/6abcSharrieWilliams/posts/pfbid028WK6GoqbPNwxNjk234fp9nNXpVFyf2pET5c3V3mChoVjFmoPt62Yk7o6C5TUV49Jl
  21. This is why they get away with having two TV stations and loads of radio stations (3 via FMBC and 4 via Sun) on their roster.
  22. This is a very well-deserving award for one of WHSV's very own... as the quotes say, she could honestly work anywhere. The fact she works at WHSV in a small market like Harrisonburg is a true testament to her and its one reason why I love watching Aubs (Aubrey Urbanowicz). https://www.facebook.com/GrayTelevision/posts/pfbid0T4Mux9nFtJcK2xVGfe1xWegtUszdfUnFjCzUuTUHCK9BLaeicKKfF1SqqZtyYVCgl
  23. WTSP is in a super bad spot. They're in St. Petersburg, even worse. More likely they'll have to go inside WMOR's studios again.
  24. UPDATE: This was aired later that night at 11:00pm and unfortunately, sadly, and tragically, that employee has since passed away.
  25. Remember when an attempt at bringing a global news channel from NBC and Sky was later pulled because of COVID? A smaller, much slimmer attempt at doing so has arrived. NBC's Richard Engel and Sky's Yalda Hakim team up to bring you a new podcast, The World (it probably took them weeks, if not, months to come up with this original title). https://news.sky.com/story/introducing-the-world-with-richard-engel-and-yalda-hakim-13226466
