  1. Via The Orlando Sentinel: I've watched lots of Central Florida News over the years going on vacations and I will say this with confidence and @MikePulse may agree with me here. Pat Clarke is THE greatest sportscaster in the history of Central Florida broadcasting. Nobody has done it better than Pat, nobody has represented sports better than Pat and he is just a legend in the market. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up going to WKMG or Spectrum News 13.
  2. Hello Paul! (JK! Even I know this is Ron)
  3. Not surprised... Gray selling KEYU to Alpha. Gray will probably sell KTXC to Alpha too. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/176887/alpha-media-acquires-keyu-fm-amarillo/
  4. I'm on mobile so I don't have links... Your Money is a business channel in Australia, partnered up with Nine and Sky to provide business news and personal finance advice. It replaced the long running Sky News Business Channel and sorta launched with great fanfare back in October of last year. Not even a year in... the channel goes out of business after Friday. The venture was too unstainable for the companies to continue to collab on and now the space previously occupied by Sky News Business (launched in 2008, I think?) will be gone forever. Sky will still have Sky News Live, Sky News Weather and Sky News Extra. Let's take more good care of Your Money because we shelved out too much of Your Money out of a sinking ship (the TV channel) that will never be recovered. The Guardian has posted about it but I'm on mobile so I can't provide links as fast as I used too.
  5. I think James will mean 7-9am if WFTS wants to fill the two hours between its early morning (4:30-7:00am) and mid-morning (9:00-10:00am) newscasts.
  6. He's NOT leaving WCVB. He's going part time as he'll remain for special assignments, major sports events and other things including High 5 and its annual Thanksgiving special.
  7. So wait KMGH has long stopped doing its 24/7 News Channel there on 7.4?
  8. Or how WHIO gets away with airing the Mountain Time feed of CBS: TM-Saturday
  9. Say hello to Chet Curtis, Tony Pepper, Gary LaPierre, Don Kent, John Henning, Dick Albert and plenty more up there for me.
  10. Retirement. It's a bad kept secret but that's what it is. Mel Showers will be retiring from WKRG. Not many anchors can claim to have worked for 50 years in just one station. Don Alhart and Dave Ward are the only ones I can think of right now.
  11. Does this mean KCTV's 7pm news is gone?
  12. You can stick a fork on Jeff Passolt's career after Sunday, May 5th. He's retiring. 11 years at WTCN/KARE, 3 at KMGH Denver and finally, 23 years at KMSP including 9 p.m. for that entire latter run. http://www.fox9.com/news/jeff-passolt-retiring-after-23-year-career-at-fox-9
  13. Speaking of Weigel, we already have a thread about this so go talk about it here but for those who are still living under a rock... WCIU will soon become The CW's newest network affiliate in Chicago, displacing WPWR which will go back to being the main MyTV affiliate and *possibly* rebrand as either FOX 32 Plus or FOX 32 Xtra. https://www.robertfeder.com/2019/04/18/weigel-broadcastings-wciu-become-cw-network-affiliate/
  14. It's amazing to think that the Univ. of Missouri owns both an NBC/CW and an NPR station. It's so HIGHLY unusual. But so is the Univ. of Alabama which has a This TV and an NPR station.
  15. CBC Sports... Home to Hockey Night in Canada and Champions!
  16. But its still better than the disastrous Cleveland 19 News.
  17. So wait, KJTV is not owned by Ramar? I thought they were. Ramar has owned KJTV since day one.
  18. So they're using the music package that they used before TITP that was only there for like a few months (or even weeks) in 2015?
  19. Did anyone know that WWL-TV used to do morning news at 5:00 a.m. IN 1989? I just now learned about this. Also, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee was on at 8:00 a.m. after the Eyewitness Morning News. This, now, is making me think that WWL-TV aired three hours of morning news from 5:00-8:00 a.m. back in the day, which is kinda hard to believe.
  20. Nah. WJW is still gonna be #1 but I hope this new refreshed look along with a new feel in their news will help propel WOIO to a #2.
  21. Someone, please record the opens from Monday. I'm hoping that WOIO will be saved and take down WEWS and WKYC with this (though it will be slowly but surely).
  22. TitanTV listings have the change now as well with the morning newscast being rebranded as 19 News This Morning and the rest going by 19 News at (insert time)
