  1. Take this with a little grain of salt since Audacy owns the majority of this country's all-news radio stations, and they did their own in-house report, but they did release a report saying that All-News Radio has regained trust with radio audiences nationwide, and ratings are growing too. https://news.radio-online.com/articles/n48070/All-News-Radio-Sees-Surge-in-Trust-and-Audience-Growth
  2. In early November, WTMJ's Shannon Sims will be leaving after a 12-year run. https://www.tmj4.com/news/local-news/longtime-anchor-shannon-sims-leaving-tmj4-news-in-november
  3. That's another news department soon gone and will more likely be WRTV's since even Scripps couldn't take them to the top.
  4. Oh wow. I'm surprised they're going with The Spot - MTN instead of The Spot - Montana, but I guess that MTN is a powerful brand there.
  5. What started as a local brand for KMCI has since turned into a Scripps branding for its independent stations. A couple of weeks ago, WGNT became The Spot - Norfolk 27. Now, KCDO has taken the bait and is now The Spot - Denver 3. WACY, WHDT, WMYD, WSFL, "KDF", and the "MTN" subs in Montana are left without the branding.
  6. And now its gone for good in favor of Dabl and later The CW.
  7. This one is sad. His voice resonates and was SYNOMOUS with WISN and Milwaukee television. May God forever rest his soul in peace. He will be sorely sorely missed.
  8. Nearly 30 years on Central Iowa television, 20 years at WHO 13, and nearly 20 in the top spot at the station. Yet, it'll all come to an end for Erin Kiernan before Thanksgiving. This is the third such well known departure from WHO in recent years. Dan Winters in 2022 and most recently, Jannay Towne, who also spent 20 years at WHO and started in the same year as Erin did, before leaving in August. https://who13.com/on-air/seen-on-tv/erin-kiernan-steps-down-as-who-13-anchor/
  9. Two things... 1) That's from August. The rollout really didn't begin yet. 2) That's Diagrid 2.0.
  10. Sounds like the WGN Morning News was referenced in a new promo for WFLD's morning newscast. WGN had a great response to that...
  11. If my information is correct, it looks like WJCL Savannah, KCCI Des Moines, and WAPT Jackson are the last ones yet to have switched, and considering the rollout has been pretty much every two weeks or so, I expect them to get it by then.
  12. We're close to the end. Say hello to WTAE Pittsburgh.
  13. Another rebrand for what used to be CBS Sports Radio. With Westwood One taking over programming and distribution, the service will be rebranded as Westwood One Sports, effective December 29th. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/314577/infinity-sports-network-to-be-rebranded-as-westwood-one-sports-as-cumulus-media-takes-over-operations/
  14. Not even fifteen... FIVE. Its five minutes before you have to sign up. Again, WIAT doesn't have this because they still have a two-hour delay.
  15. I don't think they even have a Roku or smart TV app because their newscasts... are still on a two-hour delay.
  16. Is Nexstar starting to be like Gray and TEGNA in adopting 24-hour weather streams? I've just noticed that WIAT has introduced its own 24-hour weather stream, CBS 42 Weather LIVE. In Birmingham alone, this is the FIFTH such option, joining WVUA's FastTrack LIVE Radar channel (23.4 with NPR audio), WBMA's James Spann 24/7 Weather (58.2), WBRC's streaming option First Alert Weather LIVE, and even James Spann's statewide option, the Alabama Weather Network.
  17. This now means that all major pro sports teams in Miami (sans Inter Miami) can now be seen on brodcast OTA television, even if limited. NBA: Miami Heat on WPLG (select games; via FDSN Florida/Sun) MLB: Miami Marlins on WBFS (select games; via FDSN Florida/Sun) NHL: Florida Panthers on WSFL (all non-national games; via Scripps Sports) NFL: Miami Dolphins via the national networks.
  18. Mary Kate Hamilton has left KOSA Odessa/Midland but is staying in the Gray family as she transfers to WANF Atlanta. In other words, a huge +137 market jump. https://mikemcguff.blogspot.com/2025/10/mary-kate-hamilton-leaves-kosa-midland.html
  19. The Friday 11pm did include GrayONE so that's interesting (after a quick check). Friday also went a full day with the old look, but then switched to GrayONE again just for 11pm. Its probably a soft-launch, as you said, for now on just one newscast, considering weather and sports graphics have already morphed into GrayONE as well.
  20. Changes at WKYC starting tomorrow... • The stupid name of GO! is finally being retired. • What's Next becomes 3 News at 11:00 • A new half-hour newscast at 6:30pm on WKYC+. • The morning news will start at 5:00am, no longer at 4:30am, but will continue there if breaking news or severe weather is warranted for it. • The biggest change of them all: for the first time in 25 or so years... 3 News at Noon, airing from 12:00-1:00pm Mondays-Thursdays and 12:00-12:30pm on Fridays. https://wkycdirectorscut.blogspot.com/2025/10/big-changes-coming-to-wkyc-new-noon.html
  21. I'm very late to the ballgame on this one, but today, I happen to be on a mini vacation back to Central Florida, go to a hotel with Spectrum on it, have Bay News 9 (also had News 13 as it was the main market for it) and guess who I saw... Erica Riggins. For those unfamiliar, she was a household name at Bay News 9 for nearly two decades in the morning until she left in 2022 to be St. Petersburg's Public Information Officer. Apparently, she only stayed there for 18 months as in May of last year, she went back to the place that made her famous in Tampa Bay: Bay News 9. I saw her anchoring this morning so while its not the former weekday morning gig she once had, I was pleasantly surprised to see here there again. 22. Gosh... Nexstar did something right by finally putting live streaming again for their stations. But as soon as they do, now there's a new hurdle. There's now a five-minute free preview, just like some cable TV channels give you a 30-minute free preview. If you want more time, you now have to create an account to watch it in full. Sign in to create your free My Nexstar account featuring exclusive livestreams Like... why? They're making it harder again.
  23. So not only is today Karen Borta's 30th anniversary with KTVT, its also Susan Shapiro's 45th anniversary at WGAL Lancaster. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1376196650539141&id=100044464565078
  24. For those who are in the realm of public media or have an interest in it, I just got some very sad news. One of NPR's founding mothers, the legendary Susan Stamberg, has passed away at the age of 87. She just retired a month ago, was one of the OG employees at the network, and was the first American woman (TV or radio) to anchor a nightly national news program. https://www.npr.org/2025/10/16/1184880448/susan-stamberg-obituary
  25. This is a Karen we can all love... 30 years of Karen Borta at KTVT Fort Worth is today. October 16, 1995 was her debut. I was born 10 days later. Her tenure there is older than me. https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/cbs-news-texas-anchor-karen-borta-celebrates-30-years-with-the-station/?fbclid=IwY2xjawNeB41leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHu_imbtDkTRECAzspATgUMqW1JPC3F8a5S_VdN9FypH_SHZeEWB44CTp1a2w_aem_7wzhf4uXqGwnZp1WxWUqFA
