  1. The legal troubles will not end anytime soon for Mr. Somerville. https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/anchor-frank-somervile-battery-case-21081819.php?link_source=ta_first_comment&taid=68e07af804203a00012af7bd&fbclid=IwY2xjawNNYeZleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHs4TxFKHmXocAf6gbiG8j1fa1h_ir7r9ZJfQOkzKUCYCktEMOe7Ja5xJDmVk_aem_gN1-5GJm3hLLR3JyFBGH4w
  2. United Kingdom From Sunrise to Breakfast to Kay Burley to... Mornings. Sky News has tapped Sophy Ridge and Wilfred Frost to host Mornings with Ridge and Frost starting next month, November 3rd. If the name Frost sounds familiar to you, that's because Wilfred is the late and great Sir David Frost's son.
  3. NBCSN is coming back after a nearly 4-year hiatus. https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2025/10/nbcsn-officially-relaunching-this-fall/
  4. It too says in the article that she'll be anchoring at 5:00, 6:00, and 6:30 plus a new half-hour program exclusively for WFRV+.
  5. I think you meant WMTW on that one. Also, don't forget KHBS/KHOG. They, too, are in Diagrid v2 for now.
  6. Say hello to a new look WXYZ-TV Channel 7 Detroit.
  7. Apparently, this also comes as Seven West Media (the parent company of Seven) is merging with Southern Cross Austereo (the parent company of Triple M and the Hit Network). Kerry Stokes won't be around much longer after that as chairman... he'll retire in February 2026 after being involved with Seven in some fashion for 30 years by then.
  8. Australia It looks like Seven is facing a class-action lawsuit from one of their own TV reporters, accusing the network of underpaying its staff. Doesn't that sound familiar to what's happening here in the states? Underpaying your staff? Doing more work or more jobs for less money? For more, this is a recent episode of The Australian's daily news podcast, The Front, that explains what's going on:
  9. Cumulus has taken four silent AMs off the air for good. One of them was 1320 WISW Columbia. If the call letters sound familiar to you, its because from 1995 to 2014, it was known as WIS Radio, the news/talker named after former sister station WIS-TV 10. That was the second WIS-branded station as the original WIS, on AM 560, lasted from 1930-1986. Today, that station is iHeart's 560 WVOC, ironically enough, a news/talker for the market. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/309379/cumulus-surrenders-four-silent-ams/
  10. The final Mariners Baseball game on Root Sports Northwest. The week for them was so sudden, but it happened. Here's the final close:
  11. WKBW is not known for much wins, if any at all. However, they do have this small win here... a team together for 10 years. For Katie Morse and Ed Drantch, its been that way on Good Morning Buffalo for the last decade. This is from the Buffalo Broadcasters Association on FB:
  12. KOIN has started to air a series of reports looking back at Jeff Gianola's career before he retires around Thanksgiving. This report from days ago looks back at Jeff's 15-year time at KATU. This includes anchoring with Julie Emery, working with Bill O'Reilly for a time, and even doing the weather at one point before switching totally to news in 1986.
  13. Here's the non-paywall version because I'm not paying for Seattle Times content: https://archive.is/XzncT EDIT: The last day for Root Sports Northwest is December 31st. https://sports.mynorthwest.com/mlb/seattle-mariners/seattle-mariners-tv-broadcasts-moving-in-2026-as-root-sports-shutters/1823498
  14. My best wishes to longtime WXIX anchor Rob Williams who's been there for 30 years and is a staple of Tri-State television. This morning, he announced that he has prostate cancer. https://www.fox19.com/2025/09/26/rob-williams-shares-cancer-diagnosis-ahead-special-event/?fbclid=IwY2xjawND6FJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHsCVJ3ezFEWeuzFdOSuJAGZJCZVvcPYvNdy9ebj-2u7NygI0jMgpl3bRzVLD_aem_Z5C69FiyeihdKY5iTv-WNA
  15. WESH WPTZ WLWT KMBC KCRA
  16. I think she did California This Week for KRON before her long run at KQED doing This Week in Northern California.
  17. Yep. Otherwise, you get TV from the San Fran Bay Area with KPIX's news on KION 46.1, KTVU's news on KION 46.2, PBS from KQED satellite KQET, and I don't know how strong antennas are in that area, but you still may get KNTV and KSTS if you're lucky. Oh, there's also KICU (Ind because MNT is NOT a network) translator K30OM-D that goes into the Central Coast.
  18. Whoops! Sorry!!! I meant to say Zeam. Zeam. The Gray/MMM-backed streamer. I think since Sinclair sold it to Zeam, its allowed them to showcase the Sinclair ones as well.
  19. Related to Sinclair... its stations are starting to show up on NewsON. I'm seeing KOKH and KOMO on there as such examples.
  20. Very well deserved. A fantastic anchor. He's been working weekends at WKMG for what feels like forever.
  21. However, unlike WSRE, WEIU, and MPB but just like WPSU, it looks like NJ PBS is the next to be shut down completely. https://newjerseyglobe.com/media/new-jersey-pbs-shutting-down-in-july/
  22. United Kingdom 1955 music? The first-ever ITN logo at the end board? Yep, all used tonight at the end of News at Ten to mark 70 years of ITV and ITN.
  23. WJXT Jacksonville is the #1-rated Independent television station in the country. They started it and now its a masterclass as to how its done. (via WJXT on LinkedIn) It does mention other stations that air news, such as WPLG, WANF, WHDH, KTVK, KUSI, KCAL, and KSTC, among others. Yes, they even included stations like WTVZ, WMYV, WUAB, WRDC, and others because even they know that MyNetworkTV is NOT a network.
  24. This caught me out of the loop, but WESH 2 Sunrise meteorologist Kellianne Klass is signing off this Friday after a five-year run at the station. Her recently married husband of a year is in the Navy and therefore, will be leaving to support him on his new duty station assignment. https://www.wesh.com/article/wesh-2-news-meteorologist-kellianne-klass-signing-off-friday/68001433#
  25. Wow. A big giant now gone.
