Even Scott Sander had enough of CCB's mess. Yesterday was his last day at WISH-TV after 20 years. https://www.wishtv.com/community/focused-on-family-and-community/wish-tv-bids-farewell-to-longtime-news-8-anchor-scott-sander/

Adding another farewell, this time much closer. December 5th will be Jim Caldwell's last day after a combined 25 years between WYMT and WKYT. He's going outside TV weather for a new role. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1405604737593252&id=100044312175497 https://www.wkyt.com/2025/11/05/wkyt-meteorologist-jim-caldwell-leaving-new-role/

Canada Today, the trip ended at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre in Toronto. Its been 20 years to the day Heather Hiscox started anchoring morning news for CBC Newsworld, now CBC News Network. Today, it was her last and here's the entire broadcast in full via a live stream. Commercials are blocked out, obviously.

Our first 2026 retirement... WCYB's Dave Dierks. After nearly four decades, he's retiring in August 2026. Why so long? He's sticking around for WCYB's 70th anniversary next year. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/wcyb-chief-meteorologist-dave-dierks-to-retire-after-nearly-four-decades/

Here's a past recipient to showcase what the N29S looks like. The station Kansas City thanked for making them #1 used it.

Gray is ready to play ball with the Atlanta Hawks by showcasing 11 of their games on WANF, PSN, and on several of their stations across the state. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/atlanta-hawks-partner-with-fanduel-sports-network-gray-medias-atlanta-news-first-to-simulcast-11-games-free-over-the-air/

A major Boston shakeup coming to WHDH/WLVI. Kim Khazei is leaving WHDH at the end of the year after a wonderful 31-year run (though she did have a six-year break in between to raise her kids. That's where Caterina Bandini was the main female anchor during that time). https://whdh.com/news/7news-anchor-kim-khazei-announces-departure-from-whdh-tv-wlvi-tv-in-boston-at-the-end-of-year/

I just learned about this one and this one has shocked me and saddened me. WFOR's entertainment and food guru extraordinaire, Lisa Petrillo, was among the layoffs. She was there for 25 years, since 2000. But alas, out the door she went. This cryptic post has me thinking she's not done in local TV in some way so I'll keep an eye on it. But this one is a shocker as she's been on local TV for as long as I've nearly been alive and was really one of WFOR's shining stars (no pun intended considering what she covered). https://www.instagram.com/p/DQfQi1xjpZ2/?img_index=1&igsh=MWRhYXRyNmljdm44ag==

More sports deals but I'm putting it here because it involves three different companies. We got Hornets games coming across the Carolinas. Its Cox's WSOC and WAXN that'll be the home for select games during this season via simulcasts from FDSN South or Southeast. Those will be spread across the Carolinas via Gray Media, either through a subchannel in North Carolina or through Palmetto Sports and Entertainment in South Carolina. Finally, Raleigh. No Cox there? No Gray there? No problem... because Capitol Broadcasting's WRAL-TV (on 5.2) will carry them. https://www.nba.com/hornets/news/hornets-partner-with-fanduel-sports-network-wsoc-tv-channel-9-tv-64-and-gray-media-to-simulcast-12-games-during-2025-26-season

The Ever-Evolving Gray Graphics Situation...Thread
TheRolyPoly replied to NEOMatrix's topic in Graphics
Alaska's News Source is a branding powerhouse in the state. KTUU has used it since at least the 2000s, if not even earlier. KTUU is doing this in the same way KTVK/KPHO goes by Arizona's Family and not Arizona News NOW. -
This is an unusual post for this topic but I had to... Today I learned that Marisa Burke, formerly of WNEP-TV, is the group news director for Coastal Television. In other words, the news you see on KYUR/KATN/KJUD, KJNE/KJNB, WNBJ, WYDC, and a few others. This is a podcast done by former WNEP/WABC anchor/reporter Raegan Medgie and this episode focuses on Marisa's life, career, and THE one singular event involving her husband that nearly sidetracked (but not ending) her career, which was later detailed on her book, Just Checking Scores. EDIT: For those who don't remember, Marisa left WNEP in 2016 after a 32-year career that in which she took a voluntary buyout from Tribune (station's owners at the time), alongside Chief Meteorologist Tom Clark.

Ken Siemek retired Thursday night as KOLN/KGIN's longest-serving employee at 44 years. With such a significant impact on Nebraska, its no surprise the studio is renamed in his honor on his last day. https://www.1011now.com/2025/10/31/ken-siemek-reflects-44-year-career-he-retires-1011/

WFOR used to have 9am and 7pm news until they were canceled in favor of CBS News' streaming extensions of their morning and evening news programs. Now that they have been canceled, WFOR is bringing them back starting Monday. 7pm is half an hour like before, but unlike before, the 9am will now be a full hour. In other words, for the first time ever, WFOR will now produce five hours of weekday morning news (5-7 am on WFOR, 7-9 am on WBFS, and 9-10am back on WFOR). https://www.facebook.com/CBSMiami/posts/pfbid0KV1WNhqZJCvikdhm2nbGFZze3KXtVPqZVQxNYrZhMzcqNB9mwLoae3uMfpGs5h2Al

A longtime stalwart in the morning at KPRC. Bringing this back up as recently, WBTS' helicopter, NBC 10 Boston SkyRanger, had to make an emergency landing in Chelsea, Mass. They show the full unedited 40 second video from descending to landing.

It looks like a refresh or a so called upgrade is coming to WDIV's set. So in the meantime, anchors in the newsroom and the weather folks in their weather office. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1361091595374032&id=100044196141600

Not only that, Chris Bath will be leaving Ten as well. She won't be entirely off the air though as she'll still have her drive time show on ABC Radio Sydney (702 2BL) on Mondays-Thursdays. https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/current-affairs/veteran-newsreader-exits-ten-and-is-replaced-with-younger-costar/news-story/138dfbb640928d94723a62f1a90dc6dc?utm_campaign=EditorialSB&utm_source=News.com.au&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_content=SocialBakers&fbclid=IwY2xjawNw9oNleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHrY3XipRENhzXia3hlA-e4vVL0pHs6UkfI8XWhNcDDzp5psPGUbJbgnOVTG1_aem_fCNjS_KyCLVxxWNE8n-e_w

Apparently, Mason City has never had FOX until now because Gray has signed on a translator of KXLT for Mason City. https://northpine.com/2025/10/30/mason-city-gets-over-the-air-access-to-fox-for-first-time/?fbclid=IwY2xjawNwm31leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHld5C1pTw7N6xra0PgPBmiin10sbzXBfOShPSIBYYxhooJbF3bVqPgxdUVe0_aem_Hruwtx-elIJg6j9PYhlDaw&=1

It looks like Hearst is getting into the local sports/OTA broadcast party. Select Orlando Magic games are coming to WESH 2, WKCF CW 18, and Tampa's MOR. https://tvnewscheck.com/business/article/select-orlando-magic-games-to-air-on-wesh-wkcf-wmor/

Already covered it. Unrelated to that... WVUA is changing their newscast structure. Starting Monday, November 10th, it'll be just two live half-hour newscasts on weekdays at 5:00 and every night at 9:00. The 5pm will repeat at 6pm and the 9pm will repeat at 10pm. https://www.facebook.com/WVUA23/posts/mark-your-calendars-west-alabama-starting-monday-november-10th-we-will-now-have-/1470650111735406/

Not only that, Dana Jacobson and Michelle Miller will leave the network and that's a darn shame.

Kevin Ogle will soon have to look for a new co-anchor after November 7th. After nearly 20 years at KFOR, having started as an intern, Joleen Chaney is stepping down and leaving the station due to some recent health challenges. https://www.facebook.com/JoleenChaney/posts/pfbid0UkecBVqeJb6x68UrmKqDT6twiVSAejL3hHbfhYukpiXKWK6crJD2KQj6J4Ywi4hJl
