At least the longest-running anchoring duo in WABC-TV history will be around for a little while longer.

News involving WVUE in three bullet points (my TL;DR): Lee Zurik is promoted but will no longer anchor or do investigative reports as of October 10th. John Snell is back in the evenings starting October 14th. Lucy Bustamante is back on New Orleans television starting October 21st. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/changes-at-wvue-news-lee-zurik-john-snell-enter-new-roles-lucy-bustamante-returns/?utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=Changes+At+WVUE+News%3a+Lee+Zurik+%26amp%3b+John+Snell+Enter+New+Roles%2c+Lucy+Bustamante+Returns&utm_campaign=Warner+Bros.+Discovery+Ad+Chief+Jon+Steinlauf+To+Exit

NO, this is NOT an Onion news story or an April Fools joke. QVC (via the streaming QVC+ and HSN+) is your new home for USA Pickleball. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/10/03/qvc-to-add-usa-pickleball-to-its-home-shopping-experience.html

This post is perfect. It explains why. Also, mention that you also have the Florida Keys which is part of the Miami DMA, and trying to cover everything from the Keys to WPB would be somewhat of an overkill for one TV market considering traffic and other challenges.

Regarding GMA First Look and its sister program World News Now, I've just done some research and something is fascinating about the current anchor pairing. Andrew Dymburt and Rhiannon Ally have anchored both programs since August 2022. That's two years and two months by the time October ends. Why am I mentioning this? If they stick together through the rest of this month, they will tie the May 2008-July 2010 pairing of Jeremy Hubbard and Vinita Nair of two years and two months... of being the longest-running anchoring duo in the history of World News Now and next month will top it. Yes, that program has been around for 32 years, but considering the time the program is on (overnights or as WNN likes to call them, insomniacs), its always a revolting turnover in terms of anchors, and pairings never-ever last long. Some last a few months, others a year and a few months, but the former pair and the current one are the only ones that have ever lasted the past two years with Andrew and Rhiannon possibly making history next month during the holidays. Weird research? Yes. Somewhat irrelevant? Yes. Interesting nonetheless? Oh absolutely. But I just wanted to offer my thoughts on something I've noticed.

I can't wait to see where the Marlins now land. I wonder if Scripps Sports will bring OTA Marlins telecasts back for WPXM, though Scripps hasn't put local sports rights on any of their ION O&Os.

Well this is sad for me to hear because I love her and I think she's an excellent anchor but... After 8 years at WAVY-TV 10, Marielena Balouris is leaving the station, leaving the business, leaving the area, and packing her bags to join her husband (who's in the Navy) in South America. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=924984959447632&id=100058084088335

After a decade-long run at WITI, Stephanie Grady is bowing out of the station and the business to start her own company. https://www.facebook.com/story.php/?story_fbid=1088411459320275&id=100044542924742

KCBS 2/KCAL 9 - CBS Los Angeles News Thread
TheRolyPoly replied to Roadrunner's topic in Los Angeles News
When it was KCBS, CBS 2 News This Morning started at 4:30 a.m. Once KCAL News Mornings launched, it went to 4:00 a.m. -
It was renamed today, a week later than it was supposed to happen.

I believe he was the first-ever chief meteorologist at KRBK when they acquired the FOX affiliation from what is now KOZL. Today, David Koeller had his last day at WOWT Omaha after a six-year run. https://www.facebook.com/MeteorologistDavidKoeller

Yep. It's impacting my radio aircheck playlist. Several are blocked off due to this but I can catch them if I use a VPN and plug in a different country to then watch it.

The Ever-Evolving Gray Graphics Situation...Thread
TheRolyPoly replied to NEOMatrix's topic in Graphics
I'm not in Gainesville now (though I'll probably make another trip there sometime soon within the next month). However, I'm already seeing early indications (via their station IDs online on their newscasts) that WCJB may be one of the next stations to receive GrayONE. They're still using an old pack today (for everything including the weather) but don't be surprised if they adopt the new pack before the end of the year. -
WWOR... you're the last to get with the program.

This probably means that Univision Portland's days are numbered.
