  1. I'm pretty sure it's been discussed before that Lori Stokes has first choice in any evening slot that might become available. If Shirleen is moving anywhere, it will be to fill Lori's slot in the morning.

How do you know this to be fact? Was this disclosed somewhere by her, her agent of station management?

    Usually discussions about

    pecking orders are speculation only.

    If this info is being

"leaked" you must consider the motivation of such leaks.

  2. I expect a lawsuit at some point. There's already a job listing on Raycom's website as of 2-29. Also, there's a listing for a GM on Raycom's website for WDAM (listed prior to these events).

Management had their minds made up a long time ago that they wanted her out, but they needed a "legal" way to do it. I'm certain of it.

    Sure they wanted her out.

But her appearance in front of the school leaders was not sanctioned by the station and to many looks like a severe ethics violation for a journalist....

Was she paid for her speech?

And that alone will get you fired from just about any station.

    She should have know better

  3. There were to nobody's surprise absolutely no bright spots in the ratings for 32 because nobody moved the rock it hides under to let the sun shine on it.

    Oh that is sad.

It's a little tv station that has no friends.

Everyone and everything deserves to have a few friends.

There is a show on PBS about these little trains that have names and faces. One day the green engine lost all of his friends....and I felt sad.

Not a sarcastic sad, just genuine sadness for the poor little inane object

WFLD really could use a few friends.

  4. I think that's what's noteworthy here. Yes, everyone has branded gear, but optional and required are two different animals.

Pappas had a dress code at KMPH in the late 80-90's...

Men must all wear button down shirts and long pants. The women had to wear skirts and hose.

  5. It's not a big deal. WBAL, WMAR and WBFF (the latter two are sponsored by LL Bean and Under Armour, respectively) here all have multiple jackets and sometimes the men wear branded beanies/baseball hats. Some of the stations aren't as strict especially when it's really cold. To be honest I'm surprised WJZ doesn't have them considering they like to slap their branding on everything.

I mean it's not like WFLD will turn into KING 5 with their yellow jackets and the promotions about them.

When I become a News Director I'm gonna make a deal with Victoria's Secret and Bebe for all the female reporters clothes.

The guys will get Duluth Trading stuff.

  6. This is the most likely scenario out of anything suggested here (directors making graphics? Really?), but even then, that producer wasn't just picking an OTS image, he/she was also writing the script, making sure it was accurate and readable, finding video to match, having the video edited properly, writing a lower third to go with the VO, adding an anchor cue, worrying about timing and stacking, and many other things. Considering how many cutbacks have happened and how fewer people are working on more newscasts today even in big markets, it's surprising things like this don't make it to air more often.

    You forgot...

    Coddling the reporters and anchors.

    Your "cutbacks"

    Dontcha love management./

  8. That's probably a producer.. Still you'd think you get 2 sets of eyes on it...

My bet is there were 2 files to pick from...

    MCDONALDS

    and...

    MCDONALDS1

The first file was the stock logo,

and the second file was the in-house created file for the proper story.

The producer selected the wrong file...and never looked back.

    Lazy.

  9. At this rate all they will have in a few years as assets will be the licenses...

Transmitters will all be leased or contracted out as transmitter/space packages....all property will have been sold off for profit....and the entire Scripps chain will exist only on worthless debt riddled paper....to be sold to the highest bidder.

Same goes for Clearchannel, Tengna,MG,Nexstar, etc etc...

By 2030 the traditional TV license will be worthless...and all video entertainment will be IP based over cell towers.

A "TV station" will reside in a typical office building with terminals and labor only.

The only analog devices will be the camera lens.... mic....and the analog robots that operate all of it.

  10. Yeah, Deborah has been a guest co-host a few times this season. She is really down the earth, and gelled well with the other ladies.

Meredith has said that she has no interest in returning to The View, in any capacity. Of course, money always talks...

Yeah, Candace has played it a bit safe and I think that's by design. If she gets too overly conservative and nutty like her brother, then she might put off many viewers- conservative or liberal. But, she and Joy have clashed a few times, nothing too crazy like the incident with Raven last summer, but at the end of the day they are respectful of each other and their differing views.

Candace has said that she is leaning towards Rubio as her candidate. She dislikes Trump because of his who he portrays himself as. She doesn't buy into his so-called "Christian values" that he so often touts (in essence saying that he calls himself a Christian, but yet doesn't uphold the true Christian values.)

The ladies on 'The Real' carry switchblades , listen to hip-hop and have discussed doing a 'drive-by' at The View.

  11.

I just hope Daytime landscape doesn't become a sea of just news. You have to entertain the audience, and give them something to escape from.

Bet ya some network will get with Litton and ask them to produce a whole block of adult daytime.

    Myself??

I prefer 'The Real'...dem bitches is cray cray.

  12. Most people still look up when they hear the choppers.

In San Diego KFMB offers rewards to viewers that find pieces of Chopper 8 (bolts, rotor blades, skids etc...) in the back yard... or a local park.

One Spring Valley man even found a little dog on his roof....

Which to this day KFMB denies being "Flyer"...The dog that belonged to Jason Austell...who died while shooting a Chopper 8 promo....

    RIP

    Flyer

    (for the last 400 feet)
