I read one of the robotic pedestal manuals where the first option to pressurize the column was nitrogen gas, while the second option was using an air compressor using clean dried air and the third option was a hand pump

 

I guess nitrogen gas is preferred because it is clean and less likely corrode the interior of the column.

Not to mention that using helium caused many expensive cameras to float away.

The only ones up at that hour are shift workers and people of low morals.

I doubt that newscast will cater to the shift workers.

The press release I saw called him "NBC's own version of Jorge Ramos".

TVNewsCheck posted within the hour that WKBW will be adding weekend morning newscasts.

 

The new shows will be aired both from 6-7am, and again from 8-9am on both days. GMA will be aired live at 7am. This will go in effect on February 27th.

That show will be heavy with weather...but the lead story will most always be a community 5k fun run or some other insipid event. All the "B" and "C" string reporters will clamor to fill-in anchor that show...on Easter. and Christmas the stations cleaning lady will anchor. Breaking news will be stringer video of an overnight car crash. Expect to see repeats of packages that ran during the week with NO script updates.

Scripps does it exactly that way in San Diego every weekend morning.

Natasha Zouves once anchored one of those boring shows...and she is now a big-time anchorette at KGO in Frisco.

Let's see how long she lasts this time around. It was clear that Heather's departure really caused them a lot of problems and left a huge void to fill. Not sure why it took them a month and a half to decide to bring her back.

I don't think Millionaire is coming back for another season after this one. The show is being downgraded to overnights, just like Meredith. In reality, wherever its being shown in daytime, possibly around the noon, 4 or 7pm timeslots, they can replace it with local news.

They should take a cue from the recent PowerBall frenzy...retool to "Billionaire"

ABC can use some of it's secret Star Wars money to fund it.

They haven't changed the "LIVE at 5" branding since they went to 4 and I don't think they'll go back to 5 anytime soon, which is why I think it should rebrand as "LIVE at 4"

Well they said my sister didn't know she was preggers...but she was.

They might decide they want some of those political dollars and "add" a 5pm....or the GM might just get a wild hair up his butt and switch back without consulting anyone on TVNT.

Here's the kicker for those who didn't know: Angela Campos came to KGTV from Cleveland. She covered actual snowstorms and actual severe weather.

We know her background...but she is just not a good "fit".

I'm beginning to think that outside of a few stations most of Scripps properties are too far gone to be saved by ABC...

It'd be like taking 2016 car innards and putting them in a 1985 Ford Taurus... You can do it but it'd be a hell of a project.

I've mentioned several times in other posts how the quality of KGTV's newscasts has gone down hill since this ND came on board about a year ago. Before her, they were somewhat competitive( at the very least a solid #2), now they're getting creamed in just about every time period.

They got rid of all the experienced people...and it really shows. The ND Tiffany Lupensky is a cabbage head. She can't help this shit cuz she is too busy scheduling part-timers, and trolling for facebook "likes".

The very first thing to do is to get the Weather Pinata out of there, and use "BandCamp"(Megan Parry) instead. BandCamp is a bit green...but she is local and has a sweet personality that is kinda grows on you.

And that's why I think ABC really should buy Scripps (except for the non-ABC stations which can be divested into other companies of their choice).

Forget that, Scripps should be donated to Goodwill Industries so the people there can rehab it and re-sell it for the good of all.

Scripps hires too many "Visionary's" in key management roles. These folks think they can make the ultimate digital platform staffed by only semi-brite, part-time college kids with no street smarts or journalistic chops.
