  1. Well remember that JSA Attribution Rule that the FCC passed last year, and stations were giving two years to come into compliance?

Well the B&C stated this morning, that there's a rider in the new budget bill that would grandfather existing JSAs. Should this deal passed, stations who had JSAs from March 31st of last year wouldn't have to unwind their JSAs for the next TEN YEARS!!!!

Maybe slip in a WGBH NBC deal as a rider???

  2. Listen, this poor station has NEVER had any love from Nexstar. Nexstar spent the past 8 years trying to sell it. Once they couldn't sell it for a multiple that made sense for Perry, they bought the Fox. Now they are finally pouring some love into this station. They have needed it. It's always been the red headed step child.

I believe Nexstar made up for it and more.

    Someone post YouTube videos.

Think of it as the lil 3 legged doggie that finally gets adopted at the shelter...

    "It's a rescue".

  3. So it looks like part of the changes KFMB will make in the Morning involves replacing meteorologist Kimi Evans. She mentioned in one of her twitter posts: "So thankful to have had the opportunity to fill-in at @CBS8!" Not too mention there was a job posting for AM meteorologist that was recently taken down.

    That SUCKS!

Unless they hired Pat Brown.....then it's just half sucky.

  4. Well, they'll still have their $500 Thursday night give away during sweeps...

How long before the ND gets the boot? KGTV had some nice momentum a while back giving them the #2 spot, then they messed things up and well it looks like they'll be feeding at the bottom for a while...

BTW, is it me or does Ariel Wesler look like he's about to fall asleep at any moment? That with his monotone voice...Zzz

They will stick with Lupenski for the time being and give her a chance to......mess it up more.

    As for Ariel...

He looks like Jared from Subway....and that's his new secret code name.

  5. So you mean we can expect more: "Happening Now", "New From Overnight", "Breaking News Tracker", "Stories THAT Matter"!!!??? LOL

Have you noticed that KNSD is finally doing all their live shots in HD. I don't know what took them so long, since they've been doing some live shots in HD, here and there for the last year or so.

I'm still wondering how XETV can continue to keep going with all the departures they've had, it's like they don't even try anymore.

"We FIRST told you last night at 11p" meaning the first time they first aired the story was at 11pm...not that they were the FIRST to tell anyone.

    "We JUST checked" ....yesterday....

Kill me now...it's gonna get worse i promise.

  6. How bad was it? I can definitely see them trending down with the stupid format they instituted a few months ago...

How did KNSD and the others do?

KGTV will double down on the format, meaning more deceptive writing, more present tense bullshit statements, more exaggerations, and more lost cat and stolen shopping cart stories.

    KNSD???

    Like watching paint dry...boring...uninspired...

    XETV???

    The "Part-timers/ freelancers MuttCast"

    KSWB

    The maternity ward

    KFMB???

Forced "active liveshots" are soooo 1998. Hey Bunner and Wiener ditch that shit for more traditional mashed out network stand-ups.

  7. Considering they've been doing fairly well in the mornings, do you think they'll mess with anchor pairings or would they add Heather as a Live Desk/Fill-in anchor? If she winds up over at 8...

I think they would be stupid to mess with it....

But speaking of stoopid,,,have you seen KGTV's reaction on-air to the poor book?

    NO DIRECTION!

    Chicken-head=&^^$#@

  8. I first saw that yesterday, and also just now tonight. Very puzzling indeed. Wonder what's going to happen?

How about I take a random stab at that...

Myers to Ch-8 for the block Peter...

I said random...cuz I have no clue on this one..

  9. XETV (San Diego 6) Morning Anchor Heather Myers has abruptly left the station. Her bio has been scrubbed from their website and her FB and Twitter pages have removed most connections to SD6. Very surprising news to say the least. I wonder where she is headed to.

    Whoa!

    That is kinda strange.

  10. Former KGTV and KNSD reporter Margaret Radford just ppoped up as PR flack during a live shot on KSWB5/69 FOX.

She was shilling for The Container Store, a closet and container company.

She will be performing all morning on the FOX 5 Morning News...

Don't forget to tip your waitress.

    BTW...

That Shally chick on that show is always being caught playing with her phone or the laptop....well Shally it's frigging annoying...as annoying as reporters that check the smartphone during liveshots.

    Annoying!

UPDATE: Margret has aged well, she is rocking the grandma look while showing San Diegoans how to wrap Christmas gifts. The Preggers FOX 5 reporter is all gigglly with Margret. The intro they just called by her first name ...if they made any reference to her past I missed it.

As much as I wanted to puke during this fluff piece I must admit...Margret looked very, very happy, and not stressed out like before. She lost a few pounds too.

  11. The only people who know Nightly is done from the insert studio on the weekends are some of NBC's NY employees and users of this website. 99.99% of viewer's don't, so why not? It saves a bunch of money.

So what keeps them from always using the insert studio?

    Is it a NABET thing?

  12. nice i guess wcbs is also a pipeline for devloping mouth pieces for companies or organizations, there is another one who went to the local transit system from channel 2

Unusual for a male to be hired for those healthcare spokeshole positions.

It's typical for health systems and hospitals to hire local washed out older female anchors.

    San Diego:

Carol LeBeau, Palomar Health care former KGTV

    Susan Taylor, Scripps Heatlhcare

Karina Rusk and Adrienne Laurent, Salinas valley Memorial former KSBW and KGO-TV

    etc....etc...

Not often you see a guy shilling for hc;s.

  13. KTXA had their 7-9PM Newscasts from 2006 till the end of their run 2011. But, in my opinion; I say bring it back. This is how I would

see it; KTXA should be more like their sister station KCAL 9.

    TXA21 News: This Morning (7-9am)

    TXA21 News: Midday/Afternoon (12-2PM)

TXA21 News: First In Prime (7-9:30PM)

    TXA21 Sports: The Score (9:30-10PM)

KDAF, KIAH, WBFS and if I may add WGNO; they should drop the NewsFix as well as News with a twist and bring back their news

operations, if Tribune can get their heads out of their a** and start doing something right for a change. Look at WGN, WPIX, KCPQ,

    KSWB WXMI and KTLA.

    It's just my two cent.

Somebody has to argue for the money to do that.

Remember Tribune just emerged from bankruptcy so it's nice to build up a bunch of cash reserves first.

You have to remember there are many, many expenses for running a news dept.
