  1. How long did it last? Couldn’t have been more than a year, as by 1993 they had toned down with this pack, and Nick Michaels (RIP): I actually read an article from WBBM from March 1992 that they were forcing Charlie Van Dyke out and replacing him with Chapin...
  2. A WBBM documentary on the Flood Of 1992... it appears they had gone tabloid by this point, I think... What was WBBM like under Tabloid TV? Any idea @24994J? I know they got rid of Jacobson and had this obnoxious open:
  3. ’Tis THE News, from March 1985. The open features one of the (possibly last) times any newscast used “The Eleventh Hour.”
  4. I’m gonna continue updating those possibly, but I’m not doing new areas anymore. KXTV began its longtime “News 10” logo under Belo, it seems (or did the KXTV-KVUE swap occur before 1999???)
  5. Since we just discovered KETV using KSNW’s 1985 theme, I’m gonna guess it’s a VTS or Tuesday track. Though it could be production music as well...
  6. KMSP’s using Beyond now.
  7. Heres another Omaha identification - this WOWT “Action News Digest” in this commercial break uses sister station KRON’s 1987 theme. And here’s the open!!!!
  8. So THAT’s the theme!!!! Also worth noting, a young Jim Morgan (when’s the NMSA gonna identify him?) on the VO. Also KOLD’s gonna be tough for a compilation.
  9. Probably the quickest I ever hit the sub button.
  10. WYFF from 1993!!!! 2 months later they would go JCBD.
  11. I present news opens from another station that screams consistency. @ColDayNews
  12. News open compilations technically fall under fair use, correct? Cause they’re a “history of a station’s imaging over the years.” A “NewsCenter 39” update from 1980. Anyone recognize the music?
  13. His voice sounds so DEEP! And just look at him now... It’s a sad thing, but voice decay happens when ya get older. Also next for compilations is Chattanooga. I plan on wrapping them up by Dec. break. It’s time for me (The ID Junkie) to move on to a new hobby. But don’t worry, I’m still a TV news geek. Speaking of KDFW, a Clarice Tinsley 40 year tribute! Includes a snippet of her at WITI, complete with an open from that period! (5:43)
  14. Ever wanted to see WSBT’s “The Hour” open? Now you can! (1:31)
  15. WAVY TV-10, one of the most consistent stations image-wise and quality-wise. @Ntropolis @WAVY 10 Fan
  16. @AJClementeFan69 and @Ramona confirmed in another thread that WFLD 1994 is a Crane production. Looks like the NMSA needs another music name change... How long does it take the NMSA to identify anything, anyway?
  17. I did a while ago, he hasn’t responded.
  18. Now that’s a great thing to wake up too! WLNE’s graphics looked very nice for their time, they had a similar look upon joining ABC: All in all the look and logo itself were enough to be used at WRGB:
  19. I couldn’t find WHTM’s take on the KDFW “Hello News” pack in that link you shared... And that KTVI “News Center 2” era must’ve been in use after this, which was April 1980: Also, unrelated, but I also found a KOVR show from January 1992:
  20. A WVTM news segment from 1986, no open: Was the unified look that KDFW/KTVI/KTBC had used at ALL Times-Mirror stations?
  21. The KOLR 10 News from 1986:
  22. The guy who runs the channel, @NewsStar2, is on TVNT. Pinging him now, if he’s active.
  23. A KTUL report from 2005 Btw I plan on doing Wilkes-Barre, PA news opens next, to finish up everything else aside from WNEP (which was done back in February). If anyone can find or know of any WBRE material from the 80s, please let me know.
  24. Looks like I’ve identified a VO! Or technically, NW Directions did. WJLA’s VO from 1987 to 1994/5 was named Sheldon Smith.
  25. An update on KTSM - they’re using “This is the Place.” Somebody phone Mr. NMSA. Updating my montage now, found the new open at the end (though it was recorded by pointing a camera at a TV):
