  1. I can't tell if there are two voiceovers -- they both sound like Beau Weaver.
  2. Some WFIE promos with News One at the beginning, this was the first generation with said package.
  3. WOW... Never saw that KPHO open before... Another Phoenix newscast open discovered! Now let's see what we're still hunting for: KPNX: - 1979-1980, according to the NMSA they were still using "Classical Gas" but the 1979 documentary uses "It's All Right Here" - 1989-1990, "Real News" and first wave of TvbD era KOOL/KTSP/KSAZ - Early 1980s, after they changed their call letters, known as "TV 10 News" - 1983, when they became "Newscenter 10" - 1995-1996, the transitional "10 News" era before the Fox takeover KTVK - 1978-1980, "Count On Us" and KIII-style logo era - 1982-1984, "The News Image" and current debut of the red circle 3 era - 1984-1986, so far only an election update from their "Turn To" era has been seen KPHO - Late 1970s to early 1980s, using "Part of Your Life" - 1994-1996, "Fresh News" era (including before CBS) KNXV - 1994, when they launched their newscast - 1995-1998, first wave under ABC In total we are currently hunting for 12 more Phoenix newscast gems.
  4. http://www.wnem.com/clip/12321546/dick-fabians-final-tv5-broadcast A WNEM 1997 broadcast of "Take 5" with a farewell to former anchor Dick Fabian.
  5. More 1994 KPNX teases
  6. As for WRAL, I'd say Gerald Owens would be the best pick for Crabtree, don't know about Bill Leslie though...
  7. WAVE-TV's 1985 newscast in full. The opening looks a bit similar to WHAS's open with "Hello News" (seen on a NewsActive3 compilation). Also that WBNS '94 open in the NMSA as well as their '96 open incorrectly credit Jeff Laurence instead of Eric Gordon.
  8. Speaking of Des Moines, is it just me or does WOI's promo music from 1984 sound similar to KNSD's 1985 theme?
  9. Don't know if anyone ever came across this, but here's some KCCI in 1992 with Gari's "Champion" news package and some KTSP-like graphics.
  10. KREM 2 News in 1996 (!!)
  11. Never knew "Primetime News" began in 1991. I guess they debuted it once David Finfrock took over?
  12. Sticking with Pennsylvania, here's a 1993 WBRE newscast
  13. A KYW news brief with "Production Music: Newscenter"... pretty weird that there is abundant stuff from the early '80s of WCAU and WPVI but there's just this huge gap between 1980 and 1986 for KYW.
  14. Finally, the FIRST version of WTSP's 1992 weeknight talent bump!
  15. What was a KSAZ weekend like in 1994? *coyote howl*
  16. I knew that WTEN's Open would resemble WPRI somehow -- typical Knight Ridder at the time (WTKR and KTVY had similar, short opens as well). Now if we could only find some more WNYT, that would make my day.
  17. KPNX weekend 1994 from ewjxn: And he's also got some WXYZ in there (when exactly did they debut those graphics, it was definitely between Dec. 1995 & May 1996)
  18. Yeah, judging by this snippet from early 1990, they could've used that same company's graphics as well.
  19. I'd really love if he could upload some KOCO from when they built their new studio in 1980...
  20. I also found on the NMSA that they added a sampler of KFOR's "News Team 4" open. I wonder where that was found? Anything from KFOR from the early 90s is pure rare.
  21. KREM reveals its JC Burns intro at the end of this clip And now, the moment you've all been waiting for... the Arizona 5-minute News!!
  22. Going back on KSDK using Hearst-inspired graphics, I wonder if you can actually find demo reels from that company during the 1990s. They are my second favorite design company, the first being Tvbd/JC Burns. Also, a KPHO Brief from 1994, during their "Fresh News" era. If you look in the description, you'll see ewjxn's working on uploading the first five minutes of this newscast tomorrow, meaning another rare Phoenix gem will be uploaded!
  23. Wow, KOCO went through a lot of open changes through the mid 1980s - 3 months prior they were still using the old Gannett graphics and had a slightly different set, which dated back to 1980. Then a year later, KOCO had a talent bump included in its open, and after that, ditched "Hello News" in favor of "Power News". Also that's Bob Vernon doing the VO. Interestingly enough, he used to work at former station sister WLKY.
  24. More KWTV for you all
  25. That Package must've been used for promos only, because they held on to the 1993 opens until late 1997. Anyway, here's some Connecticut News from 1996 - earliest I've seen 'TNH with First News
