  1. Is that Ron Rolland or that same VO heard in this WSET open?
  2. Has this ever been posted? Either way this is still cool to watch considering how rare KTVK stuff is from the early to mid ‘80s. This also shows their ID from the following set of opens (Arizona’s News People) debuted in 1984, as well as a “Turn To” promo.
  3. So who replaced him then? Chapin? If so that would be really cool if I could see an open from that time period, would bring back childhood memories. My parents always watched News 10’s noon news at the time. That KFSN open is clearly a knockoff of KABC’s at the time, as was their previous open (which copied KABC’s early ‘87 ID and WABC’s open from ‘87 to ‘94.)
  4. Some WTEN news clips from 2006 - not sure if this was after they ditched Chris Clausen and Primetime News as the open is clipped - I do notice the L3’s are from the “Momentum News” era though... Also this was taken about a month before Terry McSweeney left the station to go back out west.
  5. A WNYT weather report from the early ‘90s...using that same syndicated graphics package as some stations like WOI, WAPT and KTVI. Typical Viacom — they always used syndicated GFX for their stations.
  6. A WGNX sign-off voiced by the one & only.
  7. Where can I find the news open that corresponds to that theme besides the NMSA? It seems like that WQAD’s NMSA page has a lot of opens that can’t be found on YouTube. Who composed KMTV’s themes from that era? I recall when I posted that in the Classic Video Thread back in August someone said “Chip Davis of Manheim Steamroller” composed it. Anyway I’d love to hear a clean copy of those themes.
  8. I clicked on the link to the E.Q. site and for some reason the Broadcast Package Samples and Animation Demo and they didn’t show up. Also they said their first client was WFAA - was this a one-off package or are they talking about this?
  9. 0:24 Did KETV use the WNEV News Theme at all? Looks like it.
  10. I don’t think we have any opens from the first wave of their “NewsCenter” era, either. That was when Bill Close was still anchoring and before Dave Patterson came in from KYW.
  11. Can you upload any WNYT if you have any?
  12. Been looking for that ‘BRC open forEVER... I always liked that look by the way. Here’s some News 15, including a close!
  13. Very interesting— by this time KPNX was phasing out the TVbD graphics for some newer ones, but the old graphics are still used for the L3’s. KPNX for some reason used cold opens for their weekend news, never understood why. This probably must’ve been temporary on purpose, because exactly a year later they debuted “News Station”. I still think Wow & Flutter were responsible for the 1992 theme...
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btWsF1YO2zQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wR1poyjFR-s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vc10CCCPIE Some rare WRTV footage from 1981 — using what I believe is one of the unknown themes from their NMSA page.
  15. Wow, KCST must’ve had some trouble trying to figure out what they wanted to do with their newscasts at the time. Of course, this probably led to the change of call letters in 1988, which we don’t really have any footage from...
  16. I also want to see that 12News Sunday newscast you recorded as well... Heres some San Diego news from 1987 — including a KCST open I’ve never seen!
  17. Surprised this possibly didn’t get posted, but here’s a WHIO newscast from early 1990 (open begins 0:07). The WPXI voiceover they used isn’t doing the open (he did a few promos for Newscenter 7 — still trying to find out who he is but I’m sure he was a VO for all the Cox Stations).
  18. Some WBAY from 1995 - surprising that there really isn’t anything from the station from that year until 2007 on YouTube. Is that a young Eric Gordon voicing?!
  19. In honor of Michele Marsh, one of NYC’s greatest broadcast legends.
  20. WEWS could’ve done it too... We just need proof that their TvBD opens debuted in ‘86 (did they?)... WAGA wasn’t using Good News until 1987, though, as they were still using “Tuesday8”:
