WINK-TV/Fort Myers Broadcasting Company new facilities
DENDude replied to LocalNewsNerd7000's topic in Sets & Studios
WINK says in its own article, they thought they would be moving into there new studio space within a year, that article is dated August 3, 2023. So at this point we are beyond a year. And would Sun Broadcasting's WARO, WHEL, WSFX & WXCW move with them into the new space?? I'm guessing yes, because it's a side car operation. -
Sports anchor Jacob Toby is leaving KUSA & KTVD his last day will be October 19th, he will be joining the broadcast booth for the San Antonio Spurs. https://www.9news.com/article/sports/basketball/jacob-tobey-new-announcer-san-antonio-spurs/73-8ae40bc9-cd4c-4a8f-961c-d1c464dff740

Tegna's KUSA (NBC) & KTVD (My Network TV) will carry 20 Colorado Avalanche games over the air this season, on both channels produced by Altitude, according to an email I received this morning. KUSA & KTVD will also carry 20 Nuggets games. [ No word yet on coverage for the Colorado Mammoth (NLL). I'm going to guess Tegna will be involved somehow.] It's kinda full circle for KTVD as they carried NBA & NHL games in the mid 1990s, they were owned by Newsweb corp back then.

This is just crossing the news wires: https://www.cnbc.com/2024/08/27/media-exec-bronfman-pulls-out-of-race-to-acquire-paramount.html CBS Corp & Paramount have been sold by National Amusements, Inc to Skydance Media, LLC. https://cordcuttersnews.com/sold-pluto-tv-paramount-have-been-sold-to-skydance-as-all-other-bidders-drop-out/?fbclid=IwY2xjawE6CvhleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHcPfkLCj7P_mYT5wi1UWShmtKftpxcF0oiG6mO2s1R9W3Tip0ZEnfXqWQg_aem_APDaa7BxPGjGFZUkrVdwRg

The Graphics are okay, better than Tegna but nothing that stands out..

Update: KDVR/KFCT has returned to FOX NEWS coverage the station, citing some technical issues with the FOX feed, they switched back at 1:30PM.
-
Don't know if other Nexstar stations have done this or not but KDVR & KFCT dropped a FOX NEWS Special Report, during an interview with Kevin Corke, to go to local coverage for aprox 5 mins before throwing to News Nation to cover Mr. Biden dropping his re-election bid. I find the choice to drop network coverage strange.

The 5pm newscast was the first broadcast from the new studios at least according to what they said at the top of the newscast.

I wonder how this sky dance deal eventually affects CBS NEWS & CBS News & Stations? That will be interesting to watch.

Sports reporter Arielle Orsuto is leaving KUSA & KTVD after this upcoming week. She will reveal plans on her future steps sometime next week. She has been with KUSA/KTVD for 5 years.

Glad to see this sort of... I have always thought that KUSA/KTVD were kind of the odd ones out here in Denver as every other station has a name for there weather segment. Maybe KUSA/KTVD won't use the composite radar image as much after this change, they to are the ones here who don't usually show a live sweep during severe weather events, just that composite image.

When does the move start? I had read mid/late July?

I think maybe CBS NEWS Local streams do better than the national stream? Almost all of there o&os have streams going, (maybe WFOR dosn't ??) I believe the local streams have a better mix of content than that of the national.

What is "NOSEY"?? I have noticed this sub channel on Wikipedia for WBBH & WDSU.

Denver now has 3 union TV stations all with NABET-CWA. The picture of the desk that I saw this evening, below gives off CBS EVENING NEWS Vibes, it looks very nice, but seems small..
