  1. Yes, WTOG until August of last year, as they winded down CW affiliations in their owned markets (including Detroit, only to return last month) had Tampa Bay NOW which was produced by CBS O&O WFOR in Miami. Now, newscasts for former CW affiliates from CBS are pretty much now just in markets where they have a sister CBS O&O station.
  2. Here in Phoenix, it's interesting as I see KSAZ (FOX) & KPNX (NBC) do station ID's not just at the top of the hour, but also during network programming, coming out of local station breaks, even if they return & a network promo or nat'l ad is airing.
  3. Good to see, unlike the CBS O&O's, Gray continuing to embrace for its CBS affiliates using the CBS O&O package (thx ABC7Denver for correction) theme music. And btw, while there's new graphics, WOIO's cut of this has been used before by them back around the time they were transitioning from 19 Action News to Cleveland 19 News using John Young as v/o.
  4. I know KPIX (San Francisco) is already doing this with Julliete Goodrich & Sara Donchey (although she's currently on leave for personal reasons). I'd think for L.A. (KCBS), Pat Harvey & in NYC (WCBS) Kristine Johnson (If it weren't for him getting the CBSEN gig, Maurice Dubois would be the solo anchor).
  5. Considering how much flack Trump gives to George, clause or not, there was NO SHOT he was going to be involved with the debate.
  6. Jorge Ramos is leaving Univision after not coming to an agreement on a new contract as the current one ends at the end of the year. Sounds like he'll be still doing news en Espanol post-Univision. If it weren't for them switching anchors recently from Jose Diaz-Balart to Julio Vaqueiro with the former focusing more on MSNBC, could've seen Jorge jump over to Telemundo & he still might. https://deadline.com/2024/09/jorge-ramos-exit-univision-1236082636/
  7. Nice to see looking at reports on their YouTube channel on the eve of the Presidential Debate hosted by ABC News down the road in Philly, ABC7 pulling out all the stops having morning anchor Mike Marza & nightime anchor Sade Baderinwa outside the venue reporting.
  8. For all we know, this just must be for their NFL coverage. I'd expect NBC Sports Bay Area to get a similar refresh for their 49ers coverage come Monday before & after their MNF game against the Jets.
  9. People in KC seeing this rebrand & the look of the KCTV 5 logo looks similar to the WDAF FOX 4 logo. Not holding my breath on seeing GrayONE here in Phoenix anytime soon considering the branding of KPHO as CBS5 even with it already implemented in sister CBS affiliate KOLD downstate in Tucson.
  10. NBC Sports Chicago, ahead of it's sign off on September 30th, produced a special that aired after last night's White Sox/Orioles game looking back the top Chicago sports moments over the 20 yrs. NBSCHI was around when it was also Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
  11. It'll air on CBS O&O's in Chicago (WBBM), Detroit (WWJ), Los Angeles (KCBS), Miami (WFOR), & San Francisco (KPIX).
  12. Looks like CBS has brought the packaged they debuted last February for the Super Bowl for all CBS broadcast games while CBS Sports Network so far has maintains the old package.
  13. KTRK (ABC Houston) installed a new 13 Alert weather radar, although it's nowhere in the Houston DMA, but at Texas A&M university, which is in Brazos County, just outside the DMA in the Waco-Temple-Bryan market. https://abc13.com/post/abc13-alert-radar-network-expands-college-station-new-radar-top-texas-am-universitys-om-building/15239897/

  14. Stella Sun, who joined KPNX (NBC Phoenix) as a traffic reporter on Today in AZ & recently became certified as a meteorologist & did weekend weather for 12 News, has left the station as of today. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/11MJDNkJZAcxXzsM/
  15. At least unlike last year, DIRECTV & Disney deadline is set for Sunday so it won't affect fans wanting to see the first full Saturday of College Football, although if it does end up being like Spectrum & they do get dropped, I'd expect a deal to be done before the first MNF game Jets/49ers on September 9th. Nothing motivates a dispute to be taken care of more quickly than the NFL.
  16. Especially considering for they studio setting, NBC Sports Chicago stepped it up with the sofa instead of the typical desk.
  17. If this sale goes ahead, I could see Cox Media Group wanting WUPA (Atlanta) to create a duopoly with WSB (ABC Atlanta) like they have in 3 other big markets in Charlotte, Jacksonville, & Orlando.
  18. Wonder if it's going to be separate from the College Football set as I know CBS uses the same studio for their college football coverage as the NFL & they've got coverage, at least on the main CBS network, starting in 6 days time.
  19. Very likely, it's produced by KNBC considering the time it comes on after college football, similar to what we have here in Phoenix now apparently as KPNX has a new Saturday night sports show called 12 Sports Locker Room which actually starts tonight after the NASCAR race. Have a feeling in addition to being post-college football programming to keep sports fans tuned in afterwards, this also feels like a replacement for having lost the Cardinals broadcasting rights to KPHO/KTVK & hence the post-SNF programming as well alongside their Sunday night sports show 12 Sports Tonight.
  20. In regards to WCCO (Minneapolis) & WJZ (Baltimore) as well, they're in markets where Drew airs on another station.
  21. According to the TitanTV listings on both CBS Detroit & CBS Miami, the first programming they'll show from the CW is The Hill Sunday with Chris Stirewalt which will air at 10AM on WBFS (Miami) & at Noon on WKBD (Detroit). I'll be interested in seeing what kinda rebrand if any will occur, I'd think WKBD would stick with Detroit 50 while WBFS I feel is due for a refresh.
  22. Not sure if it's like this elsewhere, but here in Phoenix noticing for the DNC, like the RNC, ABC is slightly ahead of the other networks.
  23. What happened in New Orleans was clearly more for corporate reasons being owned by TEGNA, they got away with airing Eyewitness Morning News under Belo. As for this 3rd hour of CBS Mornings, considering what kinda content is planned for the 3rd hour, I'd think KCBS (Los Angeles) which simulcast the live East Coast airing, will probably stick to their local news at 6AM which also airs on KCAL, & just show the 3rd hour at 9AM Pacific. Here in Phoenix, I could see KPHO air it & bump The Price is Right to an hour later at 10 with Hot Bench possibly going over to sister indy KTVK, which is where the AZ Family lifestyle show Your Life Arizona airs.

  25. Yes, at least for WMAQ (NBC). https://www.nbcchicago.com/dnc-chicago-2024/nbc-5-telemundo-chicago-to-deliver-extensive-weeklong-dnc-coverage-heres-how-to-watch/3522297/
