Yup, I think the mullions were removed in 2018?  Other than that though, I think everything has stayed the same aside from the removal of the desk in front of the secondary video wall used for the weather, and the introduction of the new desk recently.

I believe that is the same desk and studio area that they used for New York Live when they used the studio.  It seems to only be used for TINY.  Not at noon, 5, 6 or 11.

Woke up late this morning and missed TINY, is Maria LaRosa back in 3k?

 

Very strange.  She came back among the other weather reporters  to work

from the studio and then went back home.

Maria was back in studio on Monday. Raphael Miranda was in for Maria today.

For 5 PM the anchors were standing for the entire newscast.

Also noticed the weather graphics got another update since the last one in September of 2019.

I'd hazard that there are a fair amount of under-the-hood upgrades that we might not notice but take a while to implement?

Since David hasn't had a co anchor since Stacey Bell left back in March, I'm thinking that they may wait until the pandemic dies down a bit to announce a co anchor? 

 

Or if it's Gilma, they may leave her on weekends for now to hold down the broadcasts until they can hire a new anchor for weekends before they move her. 

 

It is strange they would announce only Adam and not a co a co anchor

I suspect both Adam and Gilma will go solo with their respective broadcasts for a while.  NBC was in no hurry to replace Stacey Bell.  NBC budget cuts hurt other O&Os with both on air and off talent, which doesn't seem to have hit WNBC.  Probably not filling the 5 pm co-anchor slot has helped manage the budget.

I’m sorry but an hour long newscast should not be anchored solo. I understand the pandemic perspective (and budget cuts) but in the long run I don’t see a solo an or at 5 working out.

Was expecting that Gilma would also join Adam for 11am and 5pm with Adam and again fill a vacancy of weekends with Jen Maxfield and/or Rana Novini until further notice.

He’s succeeding Stefan Holt as 4 & 11 pm co-anchor next month as Stefan returns to Chicago and WMAQ to co-anchor the 4 & 10 pm newscasts over there.

I kind of agree about having a solo at 6; the likes of Dana Tyler and Jim Gardner have been doing it for a fair bit now and it should fit Chuck just fine. Natalie and Adam should make for great rapport -- let's see if the honchos will commit to that pairing.
