MediaZone4K 2661 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) it looks like all of the big three networks have followed ABC's lead in shifting their local 11 PM newscast at 10 PM on New Year's Eve. Edited January 1 by MediaZone4K

I still don't know why it's so rare in today's world, when 2 women together is so customary. I supppose the new old CBS Evening News broke the mold I remember a similar set up occurring about last year with Dave Carlin and another male anchor (name escapes me). Loosely related, also caught a dual male anchor sub in Miami/Ft Lauderdale today. Per usual, the holidays break the mold of who we typically see together. Anywhoo back to CBS 2...

Those of us of a certain age remember two male anchors were used uniformly on all 3 major networks O&O stations in NY. Considering low viewership this time of year, viewers may not have noticed nor care. It's fill in season for most broadcasts. 2

The closest other stations have done is have a male anchor read the show solo, and male meteorologist for the weather segment. During Hurricane Sandy WNYW had Ernie Anastos, Greg Kelly, and Nick Gregory all running the coverage the night the storm hit. Edited January 3 by GraphicsMan
Geoffrey 958 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 This was in the 6:00 today. Lonnie made it a point to show that they can display the virtual floor temperatures in a larger size if they so desire. 20260108_181433.mp4
ActionNews 12 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Is Lonnie still on the new evening news or was he dropped too?
Geoffrey 958 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Weather does not seem to be a part of the new CBS Evening News, which makes sense. You don't need a regular weather segment on an 18-minute network evening newscast. Lonnie been doing the weather at 6 p.m. this week and hasn't mentioned Scott, who appears to traveling. I always thought it was weird to have someone else do the local 6 p.m. just because Lonnie had to do the Evening News at 6:30 (in the same studio, originally). Now with Lonnie not doing the Evening News, how can they justify having someone do just 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. (streaming/WLNY)? 1

Scott left his chief meteorologist position in Texas for this opportunity, so lets hope WCBS doesn't screw him over. He still appears on TV promos, so I suppose he will do the 6pm/8pm once he's back?

Geoffrey 958 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 CBS 2 recently emailed members of the Weather Watchers network that they were moving to a new system, effective today. They had only been showing viewer reports in the morning and at noon but now: Quote We’re also excited to announce that starting this week we’ll be featuring reports throughout the day during weathercasts on-air and streaming on CBS News New York. It’s no longer just in the morning! I noticed some different looking graphics this morning. One annoying thing is that the viewer comments are now in all capital letters, making them harder to read, much like the rest of CBS 2's graphics and full screens. Curious if there will be anything else new on air. 1
MediaZone4K 2661 Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Was WCBS (understandably) the only station on the air after that plane collision at LaGuardia Airport... or are they just the only ones to upload coverage to YouTube?

Alecia is now on PIX11, saw her on the Morning News this morning. Her Linkedin has not been updated (nor has Zinnia's, not sure where she is, if anywhere).
