It looks a lot more...boring compared to KJRH's for some reason. Maybe it's because the interview set and quad-monitor array isn't there.

Yeah, there is WAYYYYYYYYY too much dead space here!

You can also tell that that "dead area" over there is supposed to be the reporter stand-up area, when it could also be used for interviews. Also, why is there that chunk missing from the anchor desk platform at the front? I've never quite understood that...I guess it's just supposed to be a design...but it looks awfully unfinished.

To see the open, go to http://www.turnto23.com/video/video and click on "Two suspects arrested for burglary of high school"

KJRH has the exact notch sticking out but their's has two colors and has a light bar.

It seems like KGTV is the only Scripps station so far, that has a more customized version of the new graphics. More customized being the open (with the San Diego's news source tag/ Scripps logo) and promo graphics using red.

^^ That freaking "I-Team music is scary as hell!

I hope KMGH comes out with something respectable, lets hope they pull a WTVJ.

Gosh, if they really do get a new set, I hope it's like WCCO and WBNS-TV's sets, because FX Group has really stepped up their design quality if you ask me compared to everything else they were putting out last year and earlier this year.

I think they had to with the promo graphics and L3s, if not just to differentiate themselves from KNSD.

But KGTV really goes all out with the Scripps mentions (only other station that comes close to that is

). Still surprises me that the Scripps family had that much clout in San Diego, in spite of never having owned a newspaper or TV station in the market beforehand. Yeah, WEWS has long mentioned their ties to Scripps and the Cleveland Press - and being Cleveland's pioneer station - but never at this level.

Also WXYZ has their complete logo (with "Action News" titling) in their open. I wish WEWS had "News Channel" along with the "5" logo in their open.

They're about to wrap up the remodeling of their newsroom, let's see how many Scripps logos will be pasted up on the walls. Scripps has a ton of history here in San Diego, from a research institute of oceanography to a community named Scripps Ranch (there are other things associated with the Scripps name as well). I can't say why they have not been in this market sooner, but then again, its been more than 15 years since a tv station was on the market (prior to KGTV's sale). I'm surprised that the newscasts weren't rebranded as Scripps 10 News.

KSHB just debuted today a totally new weather open that's different from anything else we've seen so far with the new Scripps package.

After seeing it this morning, it's now weird. KSHB now has FOUR separate weather opens. Do any of your other Scripps stations have this many now?

I'm not so sure as to whether that's another graphics hub error or just a lazy editor, but either way, it's always great to see the Denver local news make national headlines.

Why the hell is 3D an option for that video? lmao. But no matter, it's nice to see it online finally. Now all we need for someone to do is make a compilation of the opens.

And the morning update I posted from KSHB just got pulled due to a copyright claim from someone claiming to be the 'New Media Director' of the station, with a gmail account of 'nbcactionnews'.

Whatever.

We still do have the clip above as well as a montage of the 10 PM news posted.

why would it be a gmail account and why would it say "nbcactionnews"? They re-branded themselves to 41 Action News after the Super Bowl this year in February and changed their web address back to kshb.com

Maybe it was a personal account.

Do the other stations have that same weather open at 3:32? I know that KSHB had 4 separate weather opens, but now only uses 3, but I don't know if it's just them or all of the other stations.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but just wanted to mention that KGTV has updated their open (again) with a revised logo. It has the new ABC logo and the 10 has been tweaked a bit...
