Apparently NBC thinks that the interview with "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Kris Jenner to talk about the upcoming season of the show and her breast implants is way more important than the 9/11 moment of silence memorial. Stay classy NBC

That's okay. With what NBC did with the memorial to the London 7/7 victims (and others) during their tape delay of the opening ceremonies of the Olympics (editing it out all together)

It appears to be par for the course for them as of late.

And that is why I nominated them for an award (see above). See, even when they try to do it, they screw it up. NBC needs to shutdown and regroup because their priorities aren't in the right place. It is not what is going to gain them the most viewers about which they need to worry. They must be able to gain the most valuable publicity and leave a lasting impression in the viewer's mind. Yes, NBC can run a Kris Jenner segment and that may provide them with the most viewers at the moment, but then people will forget all about him and all about NBC and change back to MTV.

NBC needs to make a lasting impression with the viewer and others in the media. Think: "While CBS and ABC were doing general reflections on the Events of September Eleventh, NBC went above and beyond providing viewers with a never-before-seen look at the inner-workings of Al Qaeda. That unique documentation has informed me more than anything else on the subject and will leave a lasting impression."

Nope. Lets do Kris Jenner. NBC gets what it deserves: being the third place broadcast network.

It's disgraceful. They have come full circle, from being the network that everyone turned to 11 years ago today, to the network that completely ignores the day. They were a HUGE part in informing the world that day and now Jenner is more important. ....(Announcer Voice) "More Americans Choose ABC News - GOOD MORNING AMERICA!!!!"

I thought the same exact thing. I even turned to Katie and Matt. Hearing that they ignored today's events is just another blow to their image.

That absolutely makes me wanna vomit, who even gives a shit about some rich bitch with fake ass breasts. 9/11 is way more important than anything else on planet earth.

It's a damn shame that the folks at NBC decided to stick their heads up their own asses rather than focus on what's more important.

This was just a bad decision by Today's producers, I don't think this came from management.

It was crazy of them to think that this wouldn't stir something up.

I see why they did it: they knew all the other networks would be covering it with the same pool feed, and they thought they could be the "alternative" to people who felt uncomfortable watching the coverage. However, I don't agree with the way this was handled -- this was not the sort of morning to try and look for a minor ratings bump from viewers flipping-through. They should have just gone with the live coverage.

Like many of their recent moves, this backfired big time for the Today team.

While Today's actions or lack thereof are reprehensible, the one's that should be blamed are the Executive producer/producers for deciding that the Kardashians were more important than remembering all those who died on 9/11. I'm sure that there were many employees at Today who wanted to be part of that moment of silence instead of that moment of Kardashians, but like I said, blame those in charge at the program. What NBC should do is suspend those who made the stupid decision to go with Kris Jenner's interview. To blame NBC as a whole is unfair, at least to me because it encompasses the employees who did not make the bonehead decision.

I agree. I felt bad to blame NBC as a whole. It didn't do anything but air Today, which in turn played the stupid interview. So the person to blame is the EPs and producers who did this instead of airing the memorial.

To blame the network altogether is outregeous and covers up the real culprits.

Oh and to still have Keeping Up with the Kartrashians on the air is like cancer: you may hate it, but it's there.

Yeah... we live in a media world where "choices" dominate. It's different than when something important was on, that was the only thing you could watch. But c'mon... if people didn't want to watch it, they can turn the TV off. Today is known for covering the big events in the morning... what happened?

NBC released a statement saying that they would not apologize or regret their decision to skip the moment of silence, because they never have. The statement goes on to say that The Today Show stopped carrying the moment of silence in 2006, and only carried the event last year to mark the 10th year remembrance.

This is still not acceptable, it scares me that people will soon forget the horrendous actions that happened that day :(

If the know-it-all NBC executives "had" to do this Kris Jenner piece, couldn't they have moved it to an appropriate spot for the matriarch of the Kardashian/Jenner family circus (i.e.: with Hoda and Kathie Lee)? The lack of judgment and perspective shown by this decision was simply appaling.

How many controversies will NBC must endure?? First the Jay Leno/Conan late night debacle, now an interview with one of the vile people from the most infamous familes in the reality television world, all while America is reflecting the 11th anniversary of 9/11. That to me is not only disgraceful, but also unacceptable, and definitely uncalled for. I tend to agree with all of you, it's really unbelievable that NBC went so low to ignore the moment of silence for the fallen victims of one of America's tragic days to air a Kardashian interview. NBC should be ashamed of themselves, indeed, in fact the show's producer who made the heartless decision should be fired immediately. And for NBC to refuse to apologize for that decision, it looks like they are sinking into a deeper pit than they gotten into it.

Of course the E! Network is owned by NBCUniversal so that's why they put the stupid ass interview instead the 9/11 Memorial.
