I think there's a word for that style, too: "Tabloid".

I would compare them to WSVN's, but their graphics are good.

FNC's graphics are a poor knockoff of WSVN's.

"On The Record" just got new graphics. The opening/title graphics looks cheap and downgraded from the previous graphics package. But the lower 3rds look nice.

The new lower thirds look like a version of the "America's Newsroom" design. Right now, the breaking news lower third is like the previous.

Can I unequivocally say, ewww! These shapes they use! What the...? Who decided that the 'Coming Up' shape in the top left of the 4th picture was in anyway attractive? The turret graphics idea they have here look way better on Media General stations!

This Critic gives it two thumbs down!

I like how the text in the white circle in the first image doesn't even come CLOSE to lining up with the circle in any way.

They would have been better off melting a box of 64 Crayola crayons with a magnifying glass aimed at the sun.

Even by Fox standards, this is utterly hideous.

I refuse to stay very long on any channel/station/network that uses annoyingly distracting graphics that stay in front of a picture for too long over a program.

Nope. They are THAT bad.

Looks like FNC hired the same people who made Raycom's new terrible graphics package with all those bright colors and italicized letters.

I wonder if THIS might be the direction FNC's L3 is going...

That's not bad, per se. It's still pretty simple.

I could get behind that.

Apparently, "On The Record" recieved new graphics again! I also checked foxnews.com and it looks like "Hannity" will be getting new graphics tonight. That show hasn't receive a new graphics package since January 2011.

Fox News just can't make a lower third that satisfies me eenough to consistently look at.

Fox News needs a straight-up graphics overhaul, period. But these are a big step ahead.

But would you disagree with the fact that these graphics are distinctive? Isn't that the point? Like WHDH/WSVN, Fox wants to have a unique look. Sure they look gaudy, but no one will forget on what network they exist.

Huhh. No.

I don't disagree, they're unique, okay?

Relax. I was just looking for clarification. To answer a multi-thought soliloquy, more than I 'no' is generally required.

You know, I watch the Sky News stream and see their sleek and modern graphics and set and I wonder, "Why can't Fox News mimic that?"

FNC's is gaudy in comparison.
