Conrad 113 Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 My gripe is this. Shouldn't stations be doing this kind of stuff on a regular basis, instead of just doing it on the day of the company's founding? I feel they're doing this on a corporate mandate, instead of doing it just for the sake of helping their communities. The Corp bullshit answer is: "We (Hackstar) help the community EVERYDAY of the year Mr.Circleseven...so we take great offense to your accusations of our laziness"..... Once a year is "a regular basis"...according to Crapstar. This event of goodwill cost the corperation NOTHING to put on. I bet even the free t-shirts were donated. Employee time...donated...food...donated...air time...donated...water...tap...phone...tap...tap-tap-tap---sos. The employees are the ones who really deserve the thanks. They are the pawns in the whole thing, ,,,but they volunteer and feel good doing so. (win-win). The company does the absolute minimum to satisfy "Community Service" whatever the hell the FCC defines that as. I didn't know Nexstar had a second Founder's Day of Caring. But Nexstar needs to learn that once a year isn't "a regular basis". If Nexstar were a good company, chances are they might give out more community service, and perhaps own less television stations and have less layoffs, which could even lead to a conclusion that Founder's Day wouldn't exist. Since I have no actual TV, despite my interest in TV, and since I did not go out two days ago I did not notice that there was a second Founder's Day although I live in a Nexstar market. Happy late Founder's Day, everyone.

TheRob 938 Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 #NexstarProducing is trending on Twitter. Anyone know what's going on? They're having a company seminar on producing better shows and writing better teases. 1
Eat News 4745 Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 They're having a company seminar on producing better shows and writing better teases. Because we seem to have run out of creative ways to say... "Your Doorknobs Can Stalk and Kill you ..." 5
CircleSeven 1960 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 GM appointment #25. WROC's sales director Wendy Bello has been promoted as new VP/GM of the station.
who?cares 255 Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 It appears KARK has new graphics. L3 look okay but the rest of the package looks undone.
TennTV1983 807 Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 It appears KARK has new graphics. L3 look okay but the rest of the package looks undone. Those graphics look terrible, even by Nexstar standards.
NEOMatrix 1307 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Those graphics were only for the nightclub shooting. KARK is back to Look G again. 5

You mean this? http://www.arkansasmatters.com/news/local-news/update-25-shot-3-others-injured-at-downtown-lr-music-venue/755522298 Gee, I wonder where I've seen those graphics before. 1

A total rip-off of the old Journal graphics, plus the 9-pack behind the anchor desk composed of thick-bezeled NEC Monitors is long in the tooth. 1
Samantha 2902 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 That is the wrong sort of 9-pack — it hides half the graphic space you throw at it. Get Devlin to build one like KSAZ has or something. Please. 1
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 947 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Wow the 9-pack behind them is absolutely REVOLTING and just plain STUPID -- This is something from early to mid 2000s... For God's sake get rid of them 1

Hell, just go down to Best Buy and buy a 75" Vizio. I remember when one place was over-brightening their nine-pack to finally have an excuse to junk it. And those Journal graphics (they are, but with a font and color substitution, down to the blinking 'live' bug) might as well bump them down to 2007.
Rusty Muck 4402 Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Welp... WHAG changed call letters on July 1st... to WDVM. I'd laugh if a Nexstar-TEGNA deal were to go through eventually.

I think those graphics seen in the video shared are just used when both KARK/FOX 16 simulcast coverage of severe weather and breaking news. I found a KARK video on arkansasmatters.com posted on 7/7 that shows them using Look G graphics. (See screenshot) I also found a Severe Weather Special from 2014 that aired on both stations and that program used the Journal look alike graphics (see screenshot) seen in the video shared here.
CircleSeven 1960 Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Nexstar has renew its affiliation agreement with Fox in all 31 markets, through the end of 2019 (Why so short?) 3
tw-804 193 Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 WRIC had parted ways with their news director according to FTVLive today. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/7/12/news-boss-bounced-in-richmond

Eat News 4745 Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 My favorite Nexstar News story of the week... http://www.bigcountryhomepage.com/news/main-news/creepy-shed-making-abilene-realtors-uncomfortable/769427954 So this is my shed... Graphic ripped off from ftvlive.com
CircleSeven 1960 Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 So Nexstar released its chief revenue officer Tom O'Brien. But has appointed Keith Hopkins as the new senior Vice President in Distribution.
broadcastfan9751 140 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Nexstar is buying the non-license assets of WLWC from OTA Broadcasting for $4.1 Million. OTA had bought WLWC from Sinclair several years ago and sold its spectrum in the incentive auction. 2
