would the Arnold theme work with the CBS affiliates that are owned by mission broadcasting and controlled by nexstar? I know.that WYOU uses news matrix.

Presumably.

That set looks really nice!

And thank God that "11 isn't gold. That would look real ugly.

With the blue star? For sure. I wonder if a gold star was ever considered to match the other stations.

Couldn't hurt if they went with a gold star with this look.

Still hard to believe FX built that, but I guess that isn't much of a surprise considering the looks KPIX and WCCO received.

I wonder how KXAS will top that when they begin broadcasting from their new building soon.

I keep forgetting that star is blue. I keep thinking its just a hole.

I still can't get used to the gold numbers. They look weird outside of KCBS.

Wow, that set is really nice. The weather center looks a lot like WCBS's. It has that same sort of desk design. I wouldn't mind seeing KDKA get a set like this.

Did TXA 21 get updated graphics too?

I just watched the weather segment online, I notice they don't do the time/temp thing on the late show. But on the end of the weather segment, when they show the 7-day, I notice a four-chime sounder. It doesn't sound like it was from the Enforcer. Do you know which theme those chimes came from?

615 Music's Newsforce. They still used the Newsforce WX Sounder on its weathercasts except the morning and 11am news.

Their version of the graphics look SO MUCH better than WCBS/KCBS/KYW version. Probably because they don't use that awful Heavy Bold version of Gotham on the supers. And they slowed the bug animation down a bit. They had a chance to see the graphics pack's flaws and correct them in-house before they debuted on KTVT. I also thought the camera following Larry to the green screen was very neat. KTVT is a well-produced newscast arguably as good as WFAA.

Well, since TXA 21 no longer has a newscast, I'm guessing no... (although they do have a new "21" logo - the 1 - and I'm guessing the 2 is in the same font - matches the 1 in the 11 logo now, rather than Helvetica Black Italic/Oblique)

Oh, I didn't know they dropped their newscast.

It honestly doesn't feel very "Dallas-y" to me. While it does look nice, (maybe a tad bit plain), I feel as if there's an overload on the blue and also feel like it would work better in a city like Miami...specifically Miami. Maybe Los Angeles, but primarily MIA. That rear screen with the skyline is also an incredibly awkward size to me.

If anything, I would call it a toned down version of KCBS's.

Noticed this run in a commercial break during KOVR's 5:00pm newscast. Looks like they might be getting closer to using the new look?

That would be the programming slate for the new CBS Package.

Note that they're putting the logo in a box ala WBBM, WCCO, WWJ and WBZ.

Also note that it's sponsored. Ugh way to ruin an otherwise good graphic...

KOVR has been on what looks like a temporary set this week and, though they were in breaking news all evening long I caught glimpses of (at least) an update to their current set. The blue duratrans they had were replaced with monitor walls with animating GFX from the new CBS package, though the newscasts' graphics themselves were still the old ones.

Here's a look at their temp set (with their current open) from today's noon:
