CBS affiliation moving to Tribune's WTTV

I could see WISH taking on some kind of brand like INDY 8 since "Indy" can refer to both Indianapolis and the station's soon-to-be independence.

How about "WISH 8" with the tagline "Indy's Indy"

Can WISH employees apply for jobs at WTTV or will the non-compete clause still be in effect.

I've heard that the station is not letting people out of their contracts; and that the non-competes are being enforced.

It's the very best they can do, since CBS is the whole reason this switcheroo is taking place.

Indiana's Own, WISH-TV?

Heh, I was thinking that myself. They actually used that slogan in the 80s and 90s.

They had a nice square dance and jingle to go with it. (I wasn't alive in the 80s, and was too young to remember it in the early 90s.)

Tribune's soon to be CBS station WTTV has announced its anchor teams come January 1, 2015.

Former WISH-TV anchor Debby Knox and WXIN FOX 59 anchor Bob Donaldson will be the station 5:00, 6:00, and 11:00pm anchors for CBS4 News. Knox was previously retired from WISH, while Donaldson will continue to anchor FOX 59 News at Ten Weeknights. Former WTHR lead meteorologist Chris Wright will be the new Chief Meteorologist for WTTV.

Marlanne Lynes, Tim Doty, and meteorologist Lindsay Riley (Formerly at KXAS NBC 5) will anchor the 5:00-7:00am and Midday Newscasts.

Debbie Knox is a huge pickup for 'TTV. A familiar face for a new news operation.

Well, having the right names is a step to success for any news operation (several of the new Big Three stations of the 90s — WPTY, I'm looking at you — failed to learn that lesson). Knox and Wright are huge gets for WTTV.

Does WXIN plan on keeping its 5-7am, Noon, 5-6:30pm and 11pm newscasts or will they all "move" to WTTV?

Will local news on WTTV and WXIN be the same? Larry Wert (President of Tribune) said a news organization will be built to accommodate local news and local programming on WTTV. "At this stage of planning, I can tell you that there will be a separate focus, news wise, for WTTV," he said. "But we certainly will be resourceful with the current news organization at Fox 59."

That is the ugliest CBS4 logo I've ever seen.

Why can't they use the KCNC logo better?

To be fair, if they used the CBS standardized "4", people would likely complain about Tribune's lack of imagination with logo design that they had to flat-out rip off another station's logo.

But that WTTV "4" is pretty ugly.

It is.

But that CBS4 logo bites, however.

They should take the above logo, slide the 4 over to the right and shrink it down a bit, add the CBS eye, and redo the background so that the torch appears in the space between the eye and the 4.

This TV has moved to WXIN 59.3. WTTV has started simulcasting 4.1 on 4.2. Looks like they're both 1080i.

That sounds like a picture quality disaster in the making. 1080i suffers tremendously with added subchannels. Putting two of them together is going to make CBS and their programming look horrific.

I'm honestly suprised that WISH didn't take MyNetworkTV and that they're schedule looks more like PIX. This would'be been a perfect time for WISH to run a CHCH-like news schedule (ok maybe not THAT far but they could've put more local news on 8).
