Drew 149
I can see one one day Chris Jansing being Andrea Mitchell's replacement when she decides to step away. It just seems like the next step for her. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/13855-nbc-nightly-news/page/9/#findComment-155787 Share on other sites
rkolsen 1684
Slightly odd shot blocking tonight. Richard Engel was reporting in studio but instead of placing him opposite Lester he was sitting behind the desk next to Lester. Looked slightly odd. At first I thought something was up with the monitor wall facing Lester preventing them from using it but it was in perfect condition. Action Newsroom 1281
Tacky? Perhaps. Awesome? Yes. (Plus, that pause on the Statue of Liberty might as well be a nod to the open of the 80s. At least I think it is that way.) Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/13855-nbc-nightly-news/page/9/#findComment-161001 Share on other sites

sfomspphl 490
Love it. It's uniquely NBC and easily identifiable. Â Unlike CBS that walked away from its heritage this year to its detriment, NBC is embracing it. Â Well done. 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/13855-nbc-nightly-news/page/9/#findComment-161003 Share on other sites
24994J 5577
Yeah, one could argue this is a heavy refresh of the old look (really only retaining the color scheme), but it's executed beautifully. I'm not a huge fan of the semi-constant L3, but this is very well done. It's also one of the best applications of Gotham I've seen. While the WNT and CBS evening looks are nice, NBC is clearly well trained in text allignment and general proportions. Â Solid A work. Geoffrey 861
The open looks very nice... but isn't it too focused on New York? Wouldn't it be more appropriate to feature the country or even the world? Â Anyone want to place bets as to whether they include the tree, maybe with some snowflakes in the air, come December? Â The lower-thirds graphics, particularly the "coming up" set, feel very "local news" to me.
