24994J 5629 Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Until they have enough confidence (ratings proof) in that early team, Larry, Robin, and company will go on at 6, and continue to beat everyone else in that hour.
Georgie56 3326 Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 I wonder how the McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade survived the exodus of Chicago programming on WGNA.
24994J 5629 Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Is it possible that McDonald's contract for the naming rights ensures national carriage? 1
Jase 1066 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Is it possible that McDonald's contract for the naming rights ensures national carriage? It's a safe bet that when WGN signed the original contract/and subsequent renewals with the Chicago Festival Association, coverage on WGN America was part of the deal. Any change in station ownership (or the possibility there of) wouldn't instantly nullify that contract. They can however simply choose to not renew it when the time comes. The fact that McDonalds is the title sponsor of the parade is a non issue.
Georgie56 3326 Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 WGN Morning News just announced that Pat Tomasulo talk show is called Man of the People with Pat Tomasulo. It'll air on Saturdays at 10p starting in January 2018. 1

alex979 119 Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 I'm excited that they're adding original programming that's not a newscast. I can't imagine they'll build a new set for a weekly 30-minute show, but I'm not sure where they'll put the live audience. I'm assuming this will be pre-taped during the week? It'll be interesting to see how the ratings compare to the weekday news at 10. Of course the inevitable question is what will the Sinclair bigwigs think of this.

24994J 5629 Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Who wants to help stock the 'Man of the People' office? http://manofthepeople.tv/wishlist/ No, this is not a joke. Mostly. 5
CircleSeven 1960 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Thirty years ago tonight, was that Max Headroom incident, which it hijacked WGN & WTTW's signals. The person that did this was never caught. 5
Georgie56 3326 Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Marcus Leshock is anchoring the morning news with Cortney Hall from 4-8am tomorrow. It's his first time anchoring.
Eat News 4745 Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Thirty years ago tonight, was that Max Headroom incident, which it hijacked WGN & WTTW's signals. The person that did this was never caught. Just the thought of this ruthless criminal still being free sends chills up my spine. Things were so much more innocent back then. 24994J 5629 Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Two little notes from the first day without Mark: Ben is pulling the shift tonight, and he's wearing the tie Mark gave him at the end of the four on Friday. Also, they're prepared to go without a named replacement for awhile, as the 6 o'clock hour of the evening show is using a talent open with the 4 remain anchors.
