Sidenote: I can't help but notice that Jim's hands tend to shake/tremble a lot. I hope he's not dealing with a serious medical condition.

Wanted to make sure I shared Jim Williams' Facebook post from only Tuesday, announcing that he's leaving and that his last day is TOMORROW (Thursday, January 16th).  I hope he's alright - his post makes no mention of his health, rather that he's excited for the next chapter.  But the rapid fire timing of this has me worried about him.  Because I too have noticed his hand shaking, and also his voice sounds different at times.  I will really miss him, a big loss to Channel 2...

Is it known who will replace Jim on the 11am and 4pm news?

Not at this time. So far we’ve seen Marie go solo on the 11, and Joe alongside her at 4.

Caught Mugo on CBS News 24/7. Not sure if this was her official debut, but she appears to be settling in well.

Forgot to follow up on this! Marie has been going solo the last few months at 4 with the shot established across from the desk. (Similar to the shots in studio B)

Today was the last day for several behind the scenes staffers. They include Dino Pilizzi (Cameraman) after 43 years, Lana Hinshaw Klann (Camerawomen) after 25 years, and Beth Furehling (managing editor) after 31 years. They even had a marching band play for Beth and showed it live on the four o'clock news. I wonder if this was a coincidence that they all retired on the same day or if the Paramount buy outs had something to do with it?

Ed Curran has been absent for months now, stretching the weather team thin this week. I wonder if Ed is having kidney issues again or it's something else. Btw, Kylee and Mary Kay(in Florida) have been awesome this week with the weather coverage.

I think the severe weather on Monday may have caught them off guard because Kylee looked a bit disheveled as if she was called in and had to rush to get to the station.

As far as Ed, my guess is that they're more than willing to accommodate him any way they can because of his health. That said, he could just be taking the Summer off (given WBBM has a relatively large weather team and fully capable of managing things).

It's more likely his health because weeks before he went MIA, he was doing the forecasts from home. I also don't want anyone from the weather team to leave because, believe it or not, this weather team is the strongest in the area, especially with Albert and David.

From what I've seen over the past year or so, Ed works primarily from home (like Mary Kay). He is rarely in studio.

Audrina recently celebrated a decade with CBS2. She currently stands as the second longest running morning news anchor and the youngest promoted so far.

Brandon Roux, formerly of WDIV in Detroit has joined as a fill in meteorologist. It seems that Ed Curran is going to be out for a while longer and needed another meteorologist for the time being.

Well it’s official, Irika Sargent made 10 years with CBS 2. Not only that, but she has surpassed her female predecessors of the evening newscasts of the 21st century.
