Samantha 2907 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 It's the chance of a lifetime! We've been talking about them for years! Now NTV Nebraska is going under the hammer! The six-station package includes both NTV full-power stations, KFXL Lincoln, plus their LPTV relays in McCook, O'Neill and North Platte. If you are a qualified bidder, you can get your bids in for the October 19 deadline. If they need an auction, it'll happen at the offices of some law firm in Wilmington, Delaware on the 27th. Mr. Cieloha must be really excited right about now! Pappas will be left with KCWI (awaiting consummation of sale to Nexstar) and KDMI in Des Moines, WLGA Columbus, GA (spectrum bait in all likelihood), and its 80% stake of KAZA Los Angeles (20% stakeholder: Televisión Azteca, which unfortunately for them can't buy the rest).
NEOMatrix 1308 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I'm guessing either Scripps, Raycom, or Tegna could be the dark horse. More than likely it's going to be either Nexstar, Sinclair, or Media General.
Glimmer 283 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I get the feeling the stations could all go to spectrum speculators
GoldenShine9 1515 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Gray certainly can't get them or they would have a crushing load on Nebraska, practically owning the state outside Omaha. Based on who owns in adjacent markets...Media General makes the most logical sense. Would MG also be able to acquire KLKN to get them under common ownership?
bhratbrat 437 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Hmm...maybe if we can all pool together some of our money, we can make NTV a member of TV News Talk.

Eat News 4745 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I would be surprised if anybody was a serious buyer given the beating media stocks took in the last few weeks.
Weeters 1981 Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I get the feeling the stations could all go to spectrum speculators I think that's more likely the case. Possibly "private investors"/Capital groups as well. I doubt any of the big names are interested.
atlnews2 600 Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 If an actual media company (and not a spectrum speculator) buys them I have a feeling that they will either 1. buy KLKN and merge their operations (in the process putting Fox on the .2 slot) or they will take the affiliation away from KLKN but putting ABC on KFXL (again putting Fox on .2)
