Devin 15 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Do anybody kno the Los Angeles area ratings and Atlanta area rating?
johnnya2k6 171 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 For now, here are the October numbers for Atlanta; nothing to see here, folks, except... Jeopardy! on WXIA edged out TMZ (WAGA) for #2 at 7:30 (Family Feud on WUPA won the younger demos) The additions of Alyse Eady and Constance Jones sort of helped "Good Day Atlanta" (from 49,723 viewers in August to 52,340 in October) WAGA, thanks to "Empire" and the World Series, narrowly beat WXIA in primetime (both 25-54s and the unlisted 18-49s); declining ratings for "Sunday Night Football" and "The Voice" are hurting 11Alive WAGA's news audience increased from 26% and 332,000 viewers in August to 31% and 348,000; WGCL's also ticked up from 5% to 8% as well, but WXIA's fell from 16% (143,900) to 9% (96,800)! And so far this fall, WAGA's and WXIA's Facebook pages both hit the million "likes" mark. As for November? My guess is that the election coverage (and its nasty aftermath) boosted all stations.
rkolsen 1686 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 WBAL won the overall household ratings and demo for all major newscasts including 4:30 AM, 5:00 AM, 6:00 AM, 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM and 11 PM newscasts. I assume WJZ came in second.
johnnya2k6 171 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 No... for local channels that's not a factor. Fewer Americans get their news from TV News than from any other... you know the rest... And at the end of Today, Nightly News, and (I think) Meet The Press, they've been saying "More Americans watch NBC News than any other news organization in the world." And by "any other news organization in the world", that includes CNN and probably the BBC.
ns8401 957 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 And at the end of Today, Nightly News, and (I think) Meet The Press, they've been saying "More Americans watch NBC News than any other news organization in the world." And by "any other news organization in the world", that includes CNN and probably the BBC. That's also kind of a rediculous statement... meaningless marketing.

They just mean Americans when they combine web traffic and viewership. I imagine they still benefit greatly from when MSNBC was a JV between them and Microsoft where a lot of web traffic was directed to them via MSN.com.

HardNewsCLT 20 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Here are the numbers for Charlotte: WSOC is #1 in all key newscasts except for 11pm, where WBTV leads. WSOC leads 25-54 at 11pm. WJZY was #2 at 10pm for the first time, overtaking WCCB. WCCB still leads 25-54 at 10pm, though. WCNC's numbers continue to rise, although they are still a distant 3rd overall and in the demos. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/entertainment/tv/media-scene-blog/article117762768.html
tw-804 194 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Where are the 4pm news rating and wgno news ratings I think you should ask NOLA.com, not me. Plus WGNO is still stuck in the ratings basement.
Greggo 358 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I think you should ask NOLA.com, not me. Plus WGNO is still stuck in the ratings basement. They've updated the post with 4p numbers, plus WGNO. The WGNO numbers are, as always, horrid. Typically scoring less than a 1.
WFTV Channel 9 80 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I saw Orlando. Anything from the Tampa stations?

TSSZNews 1052 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I saw in another thread that WPVI remains dominant in Philly (of course)... My question is: Does that also apply to their 10PM news on WPHL? I know they came close to being #1 at 10 a couple of nights...

Greggo 358 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Austin ratings are in: KXAN wins at 4:30 a.m., 6 a.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. KVUE wins at 5 a.m. and middays. http://tvradio.blog.austin360.com/2016/12/01/november-tv-ratings-kxan-wins-most-news-time-slots/
TexasTVNews 1378 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 With news ratings going up at KXAS, KPRC, and KXAN; NBC really hits it BIG in Texas.
Greggo 358 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 With news ratings going up at KXAS, KPRC, and KXAN; NBC really hits it BIG in Texas. Too bad they're stuck with that Sinclair-owned clunker WOAI as the NBC affiliate in San Antonio ...
TexasTVNews 1378 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 WOAI-TV should have sold to Tribune, Cox, or NBCUniversal and bring back KMOL call letters too instead of being owned by hourse-manuring company called Sinclair.
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 With news ratings going up at KXAS, KPRC, and KXAN; NBC really hits it BIG in Texas. Not to mention KCBD in Lubbock, KGNS in Laredo and KWES in Midland also win normally in those markets in the state.
newsbot 271 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 WOAI-TV should have sold to Tribune, Cox, or NBCUniversal and bring back KMOL call letters too instead of being owned by hourse-manuring company called Sinclair. Hasn't WOAI been an also-ran in the ratings for decades?
tw-804 194 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 In Buffalo, WIVB was the winner in November at 4:30am, 5am, 6pm, 10pm and 11pm (households). WKBW's still in third place, but it made decent household percentage gains at noon and 6pm. WGRZ's household ratings are down at 5pm, 5:30pm and 6pm. http://buffalonews.com/2016/11/29/ch-4-much-celebrate-ch-2-november-sweeps/ Plus, here are the top 10 takeaways from November sweeps in Buffalo. http://buffalonews.com/2016/12/01/top-10-local-takeaways-november-sweeps/
TennTV1983 807 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 So all the Cox changes haven't shifted WHBQ's numbers? Wonder what demos are... WHBQ has seen steady growth in their ratings since the Cox takeover, and have been trending upwards in some time slots to a point where they nearly beat WREG at the 6am hour in the mornings.
Breaking News 839 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 WWBT continues to be the top news station in the Richmond area. Number 1 for - wait for it - more than THREE DECADES! I take it that WTVR is #2 and WRIC #3 or tied, but I remember back in 1994 they would published the ratings in the tv guide and WWBT was king back then.
