Rusty Muck 4374
That's a "25"? Ew. Yup, and WVIZ used that logo since at least the early 1970s until rebranding to "WVIZ/PBS" in 1999. newsbot 271
I've finally figured out what WFXT's graphics package is missing - alliteration. Eat News 4745
Is that even necessary? Ehhh... Some people need to be reminded, and it makes viewing so much more fun when the viewer can become "engaged". For real...i'm not joking...people study crap like that and sell the ideas to stupid TV execs. They call them "Consultants"...they live down where the devil is. Oh "the consultants say do this" and "the consultants say do that." Say "Breaking News" two trillion times each newscast (even when it doesn't warrant it). That would surely get viewers glued. Whereever happen to going for your own gut, make your own call, instead of relying on stupid-ass consultants/researches. This is why your viewership in news is going down the tubes in droves because these higher-ups are following what these dumb consultants and study-takers are saying. nathannah 2429
A re-bump of this thread to mention that Cox wants nothing to do with the ratings suicide that is a network airing a little-loved 2008 movie on broadcast TV; WFXT moved Fox's airing of Hancock to after the 11pm news and is instead carrying a repeat of Dr. Oz involving one of their reports about sick Boston firefighters, and then a local hour expanding on their reporting of the topic. Can't blame them on this one; they'll make more money and goodwill on this than a film you can find online easily cut to bits by ads and censors. Fox should allow their affiliates some leeway to preempt a certain amount of primetime programming pre year, right? It’s a smart move on WFXT’s part. That being said... why in the wide wide world of sports is the Fox network running Hancock in primetime? It’s a smart move on WFXT’s part. That being said... why in the wide wide world of sports is the Fox network running Hancock in primetime? Summer is coming, and the fall TV shows have aired or are getting ready to air their season finales. New Girl had its series finale one week ago yesterday. Besides, Hancock is a good movie, IMHO. nomadcowatbk 149
That being said... why in the wide wide world of sports is the Fox network running Hancock in primetime? probably just giving up competing against big finales on the other networks, they didn't air any new programming on Sunday nights from Jan-March, Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob's Burgers went 2 months with no new episodes, ABC is also airing Toy Story 3 tonight against Survivor Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/15479-wfxt-looks-to-rebrand-amid-continued-struggles-under-cox-ownership/page/9/#findComment-204495 Share on other sites
kdex86 53
I've noticed there's been a bit of "false advertising" in their morning newscasts. They advertise traffic and weather updates every 10 minutes, typically on the zero's, but the traffic hits are usually at :00/:30, :10/:40, and then at :17/:47, sometimes even at :16/:46! Which means there are several instances throughout the 6-hour morning newscast where the traffic updates are at least *13* minutes apart when they advertise every 10 minutes! Someone who tunes in at :18 past will have to wait until :30 past or even :31 past just to see which highways are congested.
