HearstArgyleFan90 42 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 As far as the NBC stations, that only leaves out KSBW, KCRA, and WDSU. However, the two west coast stations are in "transition phase" (some portions of their newscasts are using the new graphics but other portions still have the old design). Wait, my bad; I just saw the KCRA screenshot. So that only leaves out KSBW and WDSU (the former still being in transition phase).

rkolsen 1686 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 WBAL has an odd bug for their helicopter. It's a decent sized box with an image of their helicopter. Also the bottom half of their bug his translucent. There's a blue backdrop for the upper half and the bottom half is clear. Looks way off.
susquvalleywgal 521 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Looks like the other NBC stations switched today (East coast at least). Did WGAL have time and temperature on the right side of the logo? Yes. They do. People here would riot if they got rid of that. Lol — Matt
rkolsen 1686 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 No time/temp here. They only had that during weekend mornings.
MyNewsArchive 197 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Newscast opens recorded today from WYFF, WXII, WLWT, WPTZ, and WVTM featuring the new graphics. WYFF: Click WXII: Click WLWT: Click WPTZ: Click WVTM: Click **EDITED** KCRA: Click KSBW: Click WDSU: Click WBAL: Coming Soon
GoldenShine9 1514 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Could WDSU be waiting until after Mardi Gras?
LOWERCASE GUY 283 Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 WDSU has them. Watching their livestream as we speak
rkolsen 1686 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 WBAL’s weather was updated it appears. There’s more animation, the water and globe animation is different. But the map and radar scheme is the same appearance.
MyNewsArchive 197 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Well, the rest of the Hearst-owned NBC affiliates got the new graphics today right before the Olympics tomorrow. Very impressive Hearst for getting 9 stations to debut the new graphics on the same day.
GoldenShine9 1514 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 So the timeline is for KCCI and WLKY to get them sometime in March, and for the ABC affiliates to get it sometime afterward?
rkolsen 1686 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 If they get the ABC and CBS affiliates in line so quickly that will be truly impressive. It took over a year for the last package. They have what two CBS stations and fifteen ABC stations to get through. Along with slightly customizing the package for the newscasts that air on MeTV, CW and MyNet newscasts. But they may just keep the same name. For a while WBAL branded their MeTV newscasts with their WBAL Plus "You are watching WBAL Plus News at 10 PM", MeTV Baltimore (sans WBAL logo), and now its just the regular WBAL open.

Can you post an OTA montage of WBAL's new graphics?
HearstArgyleFan90 42 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Though I like the new look, I'm kind of sad Bill Ratner got replaced by Steve Stone as the voiceover for stations like WESH, KCRA, and even KSBW.
HearstArgyleFan90 42 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 They have what two CBS stations and fifteen ABC stations to get through. Actually thirteen ABC stations.
rkolsen 1686 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I created a montage of WBAL's graphics. Sure everyone has seen it before but... As of this writing the video is still cooking. Unfortunately the 6PM open was messed up. It aired well on the broadcast and the file. But was messed up during the editing.
susquvalleywgal 521 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Anybody else get a new virtual set? Yes. WGAL got the same virtual set. — Matt
rkolsen 1686 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Were anyone’s monitor wall backdrops updated? Everything looks the same here. Only thing that was changed was when they do their stocks bump shot where one of the indices was cut off. It appears they take the full screen stock graphic and feed it to the wall rather than use a graphic designed especially for that.

At least they are still using Bill Ratner for the intros rather than Steve Stone
rkolsen 1686 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 At least they are still using Bill Ratner for the intros rather than Steve Stone The voice overs didn’t change at all.
panewswatcher69 29 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Is WTAE the only Hearst station that uses their newscast name "Pittsburgh's Action News 4" as their L3 bug instead of station logo, network, and station ID letters?
