Regarding stations with no network logo since the "mandate" started: 99.5% of NBC affiliates, half of the CBS affiliates, 1.5% of ABC affiliates, and no Fox affiliates (and this is without counting duopolies).... and it's been stuck this way since February. And since then, the rollout of GrayONE seems to have slowed down to a crawl, where station launches were much more frequent before then. And going back to bullet #1, now KKTV is keeping the CBS eye in their logo despite being the latest to switch to GrayONE only two weeks ago (as of this writing). Going slightly off-topic: WXIX has been starting to use the new GrayONE weather background behind its 7-day forecasts since at least last week. Screengrab is from last night's 11PM news. I've noticed with some of their NBC affiliates (including WMC and WJHG) that there are instances where the peacock is still intact. Namely on graphical transitions, on-set monitors, mic flags and promos. It's probably simple oversight of making such a minor change, or just letting the stuff play out until GrayOne makes it's debut (some day). Speaking of WJHG, WECP is still using their CBS 21 logo with the eye everywhere, so it's mostly an NBC thing. KnoxvilleTVFanDerrick 3
I find this thread to be so interesting, because I enjoy reading the conversation about GrayONE. When WVLT unveiled the new GrayONE graphics about a month ago on April 1st, April Fools Day of all days, it became a wonderful improvement from the previous Gray graphics from over the years. And when I saw the opening of the noon news on that day, it made me so happy. I feel that WVLT and KWQC are two stations that are my favorite uses of GrayONE. And, it will be interesting to see how WYMT, WKYT, WSMV and other Gray-owned stations will do with GrayONE. 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/17000-the-ever-evolving-gray-graphics-situationthread/page/49/#findComment-296762 Share on other sites

I think WKYT/WYMT will end up looking good. I could see WYMT having some green-ish/teal colors would work with that color scheme to be slightly different from WKYT. I highly doubt that happens as the stations only have 4 options to choose from; Blue/Red (KQWC), Blue/Yellow (WVLT), Blue/White (WAVE), Red/White/Black (WWBT). That said, I can see WYMT going Blue/Yellow or Blue/White 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/17000-the-ever-evolving-gray-graphics-situationthread/page/49/#findComment-296851 Share on other sites

And just because there are 4 standard options to choose from doesn't mean a station can't always modify the colors later (i.e., WAFB during Mardi Gras season recently). 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/17000-the-ever-evolving-gray-graphics-situationthread/page/49/#findComment-296855 Share on other sites

Purple would look good on WVUE and even WAFB. It would almost be the total subsuming of WWL over the last 20 years post Katrina. Stations like WWL made purple look good on TV. 4 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/17000-the-ever-evolving-gray-graphics-situationthread/page/49/#findComment-296893 Share on other sites

nathannah 2400
"Live at Lunch" sounds so vague title-wise it feels like they start the newscast whenever they finish off their chips and Snickers, rather than noon, and knowing how busy lunch places are you'd expect it to be 12:43pm. 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/17000-the-ever-evolving-gray-graphics-situationthread/page/49/#findComment-296916 Share on other sites
