Holy clutter- There is so much going on in that info bar. If you have the sponsor's logo, do you really need to have their name in the title? Economy of words is an art.

But bravo to the marketing rep that made that happen for their client!

Unfortunately this trend is becoming more popular and too hate it... it's distracting.  They are doing it solely for income

WHNS debuted yesterday.  This leaves Western Mass. News (WGGB), KPTV & AZ Family (KPHO/KTVK) from ex-Meredith to switch over.

I do love the music cuts of Unite that they're using, first heard on WDBJ. They're so underrated IMO.

From my post reference the other day on seeing a promo from KY3 (KYTV/KSPR/KYCW) that looks like a possible indication of them maybe switching to GrayOne soon, I found the promo which is about the new and improved KY3 app.  I just saw it on TV a few minutes ago and also found it on their Facebook page as a reel.

It may mean nothing, but the graphics used here look much like the opens on stations using GrayOne.

I've said the same thing about WCJB injecting GrayONE on promos, some bumpers, IDs, and more. Yet... they're still under old graphics, the last of Gray's Florida stations to do so, and I'm still waiting for them to get it. Its been years now, so don't get your hopes up quite yet.

KY3 is one of those stations that just absolutely refuses to change anything... Their package is so old and outdated.. But makes me wonder if they have a system that can't handle the GrayONE package....

That promo is likely from Gray's hub- KVLY has similar promos for Weather and Apps, and there has been no other sign of them getting GrayOne (Ex Hoak station). Until you see things start appearing in newscasts (namely weather graphics) I wouldn't get too excited.

Had the same for WBAY, which seems to be implementing the graphics at the same speed glaciers overtook Wisconsin at this point with weather and news staff trying to put out little fires as the new system has been implemented (things like the T&T bug and the streaming infrastructure). It's just going to take awhile before everyone can be on the same page.

The hub has been pushing out the GrayOne promos for quite a while now.  They're basically templates the stations customize for themselves regardless of whether they've switched or not.

Personally, I'm glad KY3 is holding out on switching.  It's one of the better packages out there despite it's age, and they're likely the only Gray station to have never switched to one of their packages.

I'm also glad that KY3 hasn't made the switch.  With all the corporate conformity across the majority of stations regardless of ownership, it's good to see them maintaining some autonomy.

KY3 the only Gray station I have ever heard use this package which is the same one Morris Media’s WTVQ ABC 36 in Lexington used before I moved from Lawrenceburg, KY to Branson, MO and still uses today under ABC 36 News Now.

Now that Scripps is buying WTVQ from Morris Media, which will give it a duopoly of current NBC followed by ABC coming if the FCC approves the transaction, I imagine WTVQ will change to a new graphics and music package to conform with other Scripps stations.  Only time will tell, but it seems as Scripps stations are becoming standardized in their packages.

One thing I will like, if KY3 does go GrayONE, is the expansion from 7 days to 10 days on the extended weather forecasts if they also make that change.  It seems most stations which have converted to GrayONE, that didn’t have 10 day forecasts prior to conversion, have adopted 10 day forecasts either at conversion or shortly thereafter such as WKYT and WYMT did while ones like WBKO, WSMV, and WFIE, which are now GrayONE, still haven’t but I imagine probably will at some point.

We will see what happens, but I agree that KY3’s current package does make them unique which I do like that.  I like that they seem different, and it seems as their anchors, reporters, weather people, and sports people all put more of a personal touch on everything they do to where the station has quite a local hometown feel to it with that “I care” aspect really showing.  I can tell other stations care as well, but KY3 just seems to put that extra bit of touch on it.

One thing that is beginning to irritate me about this whole GrayONE package is how long it's taking to roll out... How about instead of trying to get more stations, invest money in current stations, especially those that can't handle the GrayONE graphics first?? This is exactly like how Sinclair was -- taking YEARS to roll out a single package to all stations... They are focusing on the wrong priorities...

I'm still really confused why in the lead up to the NFL Draft coverage last year that WBAY started using the GrayOne ticker and bug and then reverted back to the old style after a couple days.

I updated my post to include KPTV -- I forgot about them -- so that makes 3 then

KPTV has been on a temporary set the past couple weeks. They announced on-air that they are getting a new set. So I wonder if they'll switch graphics too when they debut the set?

I’m to starting think that KY3 in Springfield might be going to make some changes soon.

That same promo I posted about recently, using the GrayONE style is still airing, but today I noticed they started using the tagline “Leading The Way” which is the same as WLWT 5 in Cincinnati uses.  WLWT is not gray, but the tagline for KY3 sounds like it is spoken exactly the same way by the same announcer WLWT uses.  They have both had that same announcer for quite a while, but it caught my attention when I heard that tagline since I hadn’t heard it on KY3 until today.

I was also watching a recorded ABC Primetime show today from Monday night that aired on KSPR, and the tagline was used during a commercial break there also so I will watch to see if it starts to make the rounds more often .

It may still mean nothing since some things are not necessarily created in-house, but I will continue to keep my eyes and ears open for anything else that might potentially suggest something could be coming.

Been noticing this for a while on KVLY- wondering if there is any logical or rational explanation for the "KX4" and "KVLY" under the bug on the newscasts when the channel info is in the bug? It's not just stamped on online videos- these show up on the broadcast.

And why do they look like someone copy/pasted the wrong filetype from a Google Image search with the white fuzz/static around the icons?

The WTVM/WLTZ duopoly in Columbus, GA got the GreyONE graphics and new music Wednesday. The former also debuted a new logo.

WTVM doesn't use the First Alert branding...that's unusual.

WRBL uses it in that market.

Here is another promo that showed up today on KY3 a few minutes ago just before the start of The Place on KYTV (my first time seeing it on any of their three stations KYTV/KYCW/KSPR).

It still may mean nothing, but I am seeing more of these showing up as time goes on.

It appears that KPTV in Portland, OR, began using the GrayONE package starting with their evening newscast (Good Day Oregon still using the older ex-Meredith package this morning). I was able to capture the graphics from their newscast, which was already uploaded to their YouTube channel. (Apologies for that CC overlaying the banner)

Here it is in action. GrayONE, Allan Peck VO now, and new set, but same branding and same longtime music (thankfully).

Freaking irritates me to no end to STILL have elements of the Meredith package in there... Either launch the entire thing or wait until the previous pacakge elements are deleted..
