Press release for Mike Seidel and Ari Sarsalari joining FOX Weather full-time. Two big gets from TWC

These were 2 big powerhouses that they desperately needed... Hopefully they can bring some normalcy to Fox Weather

I wonder if this means that Ari will have a permanent on-air schedule now. I know for the past couple of months, he's been appearing at random, whenever the network needed him.

This morning, based on what I'm seeing, it looks like Ari hosted Fox Weather First alongside Craig, while Britta moved down to Weather Command to cover the landfall of Debby alongside Stephen.

Amy Freeze is officially off the website.  Jason Frazier is surprisingly still there... Have we heard anything lately about him??

I see that Jason posted a Fox Weather map about Tropical Storm Debby's rainfall forecast to Facebook yesterday. Wonder if that's still part of his ongoing contract.

2 huge gets for Fox Weather getting Mike Seidel & Ari Sarsalari. I wanted to see if Fox Weather would've signed Mike Seidel glad that happen, he does a pretty good job in the field covering the nasty weather around the country.

Here is Jason Frazier's official statement/post via FTVLive

That statement is so painful to read, knowing that it likely has nothing to do with what actually happened behind the scenes.

Agreed... And I'm surprised Amy has stayed as quiet as she has

In other news, the "new format" of America's Weather Center with Bob Van Dillen that rolled out on July 29th did not even survive the end of that very week. Once coverage of what would become Hurricane Debby started on Friday, August 2nd, the format and studio of the show went back to the old setup, and it's been that way ever since.

Since Fox Weather's inception, special weather event coverage seems to always upend their schedule permanently. We're talking dating back to the December 2021 tornado outbreak that resulted in the first cancellation of America's Weather Tonight, and several weather events since then. They always seem to exit each special weather event with something permanently different with the schedule or show formatting.

... and now that Tropical Storm Francine exists and is a threat to the US, America's Weather Center has returned to the July 29th format of originating from the FNC newsroom with a rotating cast of meteorologists joining Bob at the desk each segment.

I found it in a Discord server but this is NOT my photo... I think this is the first I've seen this. FOX Weather on FOX News during Helene coverage.

Fox News did air Fox Weather when a cane hit FL last year late Aug or Sep in 2023. I watched the coverage on Fox News they did a pretty good job.

I've always said that major storm coverage seems to have a permanent impact on Fox Weather's schedule afterwards, and it looks like Helene and Milton were no different. Judging from last weekend and this weekend, all weather programming on weekends after 2pm ET has been discontinued and replaced by returns of Park'd nonstop until live programming resumes the following morning. Awful.

Pretty much what their rival TWC does at 2PM until 6AM on the weekends.

Indeed, it sounds like both networks have modified their schedules within this past week (Fox Weather shortening weekend hours; TWC lengthening weekday hours) to mirror each other.

Fox Weather is toast. The most dangerous tornado outbreak of the fall/winter season is underway, and Fox Weather dropped coverage at 8pm or 9pm ET (not sure which), because welp, it's a weekend during the holiday season, and ya know, 9pm is pretty late, so we'll be back live at 6am to assess the aftermath.

Even TWC, which originally planned on also dropping coverage at 8pm ET, added an additional live shift from 8pm to ??? (still live as of now at 9:37pm ET) when they saw how serious the tornado outbreak was going to be.

I don't think the higher-ups really care about Fox Weather anymore. It seems like they're just treating it as another shovelware FAST network that plays whatever they feel like showing in between constant ad breaks. I think 2025 will be the year that Fox Weather drastically cuts back even its weekday programming schedule, with additional staff cuts.

Spring Weather, I saw that FOX Weather was kind of on this strange loop yesterday.  The Weather Channel & Weather Nation TV were both on top of the multiple alerts as they were going out.  FOX Weather finally started to show alerts 20-30mins after TWC & WN, SAD situation for FOX Weather.

Somewhere within the past ??? number of weeks, the weekend 6am--9am ET show was rebranded to Weather Command Weekend. Of course, this literally makes no sense given that the weekday edition of Weather Command remains an 8am-12pm ET show.

Would have made a lot more sense to keep the weekend 6am-9am ET branded as Fox Weather First Weekend while rebranding the 9am-2pm ET show to Weather Command Weekend, but it doesn't seem like Fox Weather can make many sensible decisions lately.
