This season will be the last for Bob Carpenter as the TV voice of the Washington Nationals & also the end, in all likelihood, of a great sports broadcasting career. He was the first host of ESPN's College Gameday & did other stuff for them & also was a voice for the St. Louis Cardinals. https://www.masnsports.com/blog/carpenter-reveals-this-will-be-final-season-as-nats-lead-announcer

The dc tv legends are all starting to retire One more year of Bob Carpenter

I honestly saw the Gray triopoly in Phoenix trying to snatch-up the Diamondbacks OTA rights, but good for Tegna for getting those broadcast rights, along with the Padres and Rockies.  Even said, as far as San Diego, I would thought that KUSI would have gone back and put-in a bid to carry some Padres games once again.  That said, good for KFMB (another station that spent some years carrying in different times in the last 45 years airing some Friars games), as well as the duopoly in the Mile High City.  Of course, as some folks know, KTVD carried a fair amount of Rockies games up until 2008.

Nothing new to say about the Bally/FanDuel scoreboard this year; everything remains unchanged. Rangers network board is nice, and unusually with the Twins now MLB-P&D'ed, instead of an RSN bug, the Progressive logo remains on the top right of the screen at all times in addition to being the presenting sponsor. Not unusual for radio now, but a first for TV coverage in this age.

KMSP will be airing select twins games this season… given how the twins session is starting, not sure if the station regrets the move yet.

Edit: Gray will also be broadcasting the games region-wide. Remember Gray does not have a station themselves in the MSP market.

According to that other site, the Braves on Gray graphics are actually the first outing for what will eventually be a group-wide graphics package for regional sports broadcasts on Gray channels.

The Pirates quietly dropped the standard-issue-but-grey NESN scoreboard for an updated version during their home opener

It's serviceable and definitely an improvement (though the white backgrounds on the batter/hitter is a bit iffy. Would probably make them color coded for the teams)

WBFS (CW/Miami) will be airing 15 Miami Marlins games, mainly Fridays, with a few Sundays sprinkled in.

And their American League cohorts in Tampa are following suit, also with Paramount.

The first time games will be OTA in Miami since WPXM did so from 2002 to 2005, so 20 years now.

Fox decided to work in some of its NASCAR graphics for the (rain delayed) game at Bristol Motor Speedway, although they didn't go as far as to make a custom scoreboard too.

Root Sports is closing in 2026, MLB Local Media will be taking over distribution for Mariners games next season.

Considering how Xfinity (main cable provider in Seattle) has recently been pushing RSNs up to a more expensive cable tier, I'm sure there are some folks up in the Pacific Northwest that'll be happy about this news.

The final Mariners Baseball game on Root Sports Northwest. The week for them was so sudden, but it happened. Here's the final close:

See it in action here with one more troll job at the Yankees, courtesy of Big Papi and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr.

The TBS broadcast of the Phillies vs. Dodgers NLDS had some of the worst camera quality i've ever seen in an MLB game. Way, way WAY over saturated, and it barely looked like it was 1080p.
