I can see them selling off the O&O stations, but they might see the point in holding on to the network itself for a while. What proof exists that Skydance wanted the network and that it wasn't some tagalong because Shari Redstone didn't want to just simply sell Paramount Pictures to David Ellison? And after Ellison was humiliated by Trump and Carr over CBS News, of course he'd be dropping a giant "for sale" sign in front of CBS right away and disposing of it at their earliest convenience to make the shareholders happy. 1 hour ago, mre29 said: As for Nexstar being the only available buyer... well, I'll believe it when I see it. CBS still has 12.5% of the CW. There's more than enough motivation. Edited August 9, 2025 by Rusty Muck 1
channel2 1042 Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Didn't Paramount get rid of their stake in the CW? 1

They aren’t even gonna sell the CBS O&Os, maybe maybe WTOG and KSTW get sold but there not letting go of all of them. 2 1
Megatron81 343 Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 I thought that Byron Allen was going to have to sell his TV stations piecemeal as I don't think anyone could buy it as a whole in my opinion. I hope Gray gets rid of Byron Cheap Skate Allen's syndication dreck out on the TV stations their buying. 1
evv_mlis 34 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Looks like the deal is approved. https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/gray-media-byron-allen-allen-003000970.html
ABC 7 Denver 1889 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) Not that this is specifically germane to this subject, but I expect The Weather Channel to be sold too. Allen has not invested in a pivot strategy for them. Hyper-targeting would keep the platform viable. Edited May 2 by ABC 7 Denver
