SFTV 567 Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 10 years in, KGO has decided to refresh its news set starting today. It was just mentioned in the 6pm show that they are getting a set refresh and will be temporarily broadcasting in various parts of the newsroom until the remodel is finished. Here’s a look at the current set now under a refresh https://www.youmansdesigns.com/abc-7-kgo-san-francisco 11am debut show from the news room https://abc7news.com/videoClip/18006586/ And just a little throwback, sometimes I wonder how their lofty secondary studio would’ve looked like if they were not in the newsroom during this transition since they are leasing it to KRON. 7 Live Studio https://bowmanrodgersdesign.com/portfolio/kgo-tv-7-live/

C Block 1611 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 This set has been one of my favorites for a long time, and I think it aged really well. It’ll be interesting to see the refresh. Since a new GM has taken over, KGO has taken a more traditional, meat and potatoes approach to news, so I’m guessing the end result will be pretty conservative in design. 2

MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 1158 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 The KGO set looks like an abandoned art gallery/museum/office space turned news set... 1
C Block 1611 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 (edited) The updated set debuted at 11am today. They added a big video wall next to the weather center for weather, and it looks like they added a similar video wall to the demo/interview set. Otherwise, everything looked the same from what I saw. SFTV 567 Posted November 3, 2025 Author Posted November 3, 2025 There’s a projector floor set up seen here. And yes a new curved monitor wall on the other set
SFTV 567 Posted November 4, 2025 Author Posted November 4, 2025 (edited) the floor projector looks similar to NBC Bay Area’s set up Edited November 4, 2025 by SFTV
TVLurker 389 Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 KNTV's set looks like it came from the 2000s but an alternate 2000s. 1
