wabceyewitness 827 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 The "weather center" and the studio look like a very empty and poorly designed electronics store.
sarahg 0 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Applegate really isn't that good. I don't get it.
Geoffrey 873 Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 They didn't even bother to change the weather graphics to the green look... probably just don't want to have to change it back next week.
kshow 167 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 This was definitely a horrible idea. One of the worst ideas ever made in NY TV history.
NYNews 54 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 They should put a fail stamp on it and post it on failblog.org
kshow 167 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 That newsroom looks horrible in HD. Just looks like a big mess.
DMA 135 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 This is the worst bit of local television I have ever seen. Calling this atrocious would be a compliment.
kshow 167 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 This lunch table (can't even say round table) discussion is obviously taped.
Geoffrey 873 Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 Curtis Sliwa growling with a mask and baseball bat to "veteran TV journalist" Laurie Dhue... that about sums it up. Edit: I'm so dizzy. What happened to the tripods??
IceManNYR 240 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 On this taped non news segment discussing news stories, the audio is slightly out of sync with the video. It's also awful. Epic Fail?
NYNews 54 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 What is the point of this panel discussion?
sarahg 0 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 The panel is so dumb. Jim and Kaity's "chit chat" is a much better use of screen time.
wabceyewitness 827 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 They're now doing a roundtable/cable news style discussion on hot topics. I kind of like this idea, however, the table looks like they brought it in from a school cafeteria. This segment is probably best for the morning show
Weeters 1969 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 This lunch table (can't even say round table) discussion is obviously taped. It was on the site a while ago when I was writing the story about the new Tribune site design.
Ntropolis 599 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I love how the mod is trying to get feedback from people on the "roundtable"...
C Block 1566 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Just watched a few minutes of this, and it is painful. Now you all know what KWGN was turned into a year and a half ago!
StudioTech 15 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I really dislike this... I see the direction they are going. They are trying to get the 'Gossip Girl' crowd. The CW is a young network and they are trying to appeal to them. But this is just horrible. The set is ugly. I usually like the relaxed look of plasma screens and walking around the newsroom. But the PIX11 newsroom really looks bad. Funny how just 2 short years ago, the station started moving away from the CW, starting with rebranding the station to PIX and changing back to the classic Circle 11 logo, given the reason of going back to their roots.
NYNews 54 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Mocker looks pathetic in the background chatting live online.
Guest NewsHound Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 It's pretty sad that you have to cut Sports short for a rounded out ending of "Lionel". Yep, I hear the crys of desperation.
Geoffrey 873 Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 The moderator, responding to a ton of comments, kept saying Kaity was coming up now. Now she had "technical problems." Yeah. Right.
RGSJenkins 435 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Funny how just 2 short years ago, the station started moving away from the CW, starting with rebranding the station to PIX and changing back to the classic Circle 11 logo, given the reason of going back to their roots. I think they found the wrong tree.
