The KCRA and You theme line is all over this.

In better condition, video-wise, than other postings of this broadcast on YouTube is the first 3 hours of CNN from June 1, 1980:

Wow that KRON set looks like a precursor to the Welch newsmat with the skyline view and logo superimposed above

George Reading was another Paul Udell type. He bounced around and ended up in Monterey CA as a semi-retirement job.

Nice. I've read that WPEC was considered a 'joke'. WPTV was a Scripps clone.

It was owned by Scripps. Same “5” and open style as WEWS. Their own sister on the same channel (WMC) used an old-style “5”.

Phoenix 1983-4 sports segments

Rare glimpses at the pre-1986 KTVK set at the 4:47 mark and the very last frame of the clip.

And at the 6:36 mark: a newly discovered KTSP theme?

From the TVNT Discord classic files we go all the way back to the very last stages of Channel 4 under the callsign KTVY during the Spring of 1990 this is actually in the form of the directors track. (h/t @Weeters

Wow, still KTVY too. Less than two weeks to the call change.

The channel has more wonderful material on it and the potential for even more, but this is another rarity:

And then there was this one we were discussing about in Discord. A retrospective of his entire career in broadcasting as Director. He did leave KTVY/KFOR for OETA I believe around late 1992/early 1993 where he produced and directed some of the specials (including the Centennial anniversary of Oklahoma becoming a state in 2007) as seen here

In memory and in tribute to the late Jane Gardner. RIP and Godspeed.

And the billing is a huge part of it, IMO:

"From the Eastern Shore to the Outer Banks, and all of Hampton Roads... Jane Gardner, Gene Kapp, Dr. Duane Harding with Doppler weather, and Bob Rathbun on sports. This is WTKR-TV's News 3 at 11."

Finally found some more WNCT from the last "NewsCenter 9" era... the station had recently been purchased by Media General at this point. No newscast, but here's a promo with Allan Hoffman:
