The alternative is having them all go under because no one wants a bunch of damaged or destroyed goods that Byron ruined with his ineptitude and ego. Nexstar are Gray are the prohibitive favorites because they somehow and inexplicably keep getting money to finance their purchases, plus it's no secret that Perry Sook just wants to own everything. It's again the perfect test case for unfettered deregulation by Brendan Carr provided that the buyer is someone he likes, and he likes Nexstar. Run them as rumps of their existing properties. WJRT becoming an appendage of WNEM, WAAY as an appendage of WAFF, etc. It'll cost way too much money for anyone else to bring those stations back up to par in an already contracting industry.

...Even though, yet, Nexstar or Gray isn't in the mood to buy the whole Allen chain. Plus, if the station count and the stations in the area that Gray or Nexstar and AMG have stations in, some of the stations are successful enough that the failing station waiver doesn't work AND, like I mentioned, yet, it won't be approved. Plus, what would they even do with the stations anyway?

Deltavision is a company that had for whatever reason a lot of money to incinerate on rapidly declining assets in unfavorable areas. All my money (and all of everyone else's tbh) should be on Gray or Nexstar buying the entire Allen chain under failing station waivers. The FCC sure as heck won't challenge it and it'd probably be the catalyst for unfettered deregulation on their end.

KIMT doesn't do news from Mason City anymore, but today, they did so instead. Why? Its been 30 years since Jodi Huisentruit went missing. Special editions of their newscasts were done from the original building, along with a flower and a picture of Jodi in the background.

This looks like something that could work, and I like how they're doing this. TEGNA stations across the West are joining forces to bring you a weather-only program called Weather Out West on streaming. Stations featured? KXTV Sacramento KFMB San Diego KING/KONG Seattle KGW Portland KREM/KSKN Spokane KTVB Boise KUSA/KTVD Denver KPNX Phoenix/KMSB Tucson (TEGNA owns the latter and airs KPNX news there too) It appears to be a daily occurrence, but I'm not entirely sure. Today, its KING 5's Ashley Ruiz hosting (and delivering the Seattle forecast) with a national summary from WXIA-TV Atlanta's Julie Martin (remember her? From TWC?).

That too bad for Byron Miranda I thought he could be a really good successor to Mr. G if he retired. He definitely had the potential I do not like Stacy Ann like that I wouldn’t be surprised if she started some things that pissed him off.

And for Comcast homes, it's not even the position they care about the most; they'll probably promote wherever they land in the HD 430s tier instead, because they know outside those who still haven't been moved to streaming/Xumo boxes, very few watch SD channels at that position, outside of DVR space saving/'stubborn olds'. It may even just take channel 431 from WPLG and they'll have to move and switch channel positions in the 430-450 tier with another station (444 is blank so that's a possibility). But on YouTube TV, Hulu, Fubo or anything else, it'll be seamless for ABC viewers, including recordings, while WPLG likely end up with having to start all over, and will find itself having to negotiate their own carriage in the future.

The 18.1 placement really doesn't matter for anything but cable carriage. Not that it matters because LPTVs are excluded from must-carry rules.

I also don't want to see yet another local station oversaturated with news. The all local news all the time bubble will eventually burst. There's no doubt 'Local 10 World News' will be a copycat of David Muir's show with significantly fewer on the ground live shots, and mostly anchor VOs from wire services. That said, what choice does WPLG (and similarly WANF) have? Syndication options are few and costly. I like the world news concept with a Caribbean and Latin American focus to appeal to Miami's demographics. They're taking a page from Fox O&Os --- diversifying obscene news output with creative programming. KCPQ for example doing a Washington State based newscast, and KRIV having "The Isiah Factor" etc..

The 18.1 signal will be used mainly for cable and probably satellite services.

I don't think that's realistic, given who PLG's owners are and their relationship with Graham.

Frank Gari brought Lalo's Cool Hand Luke into the 80s and early 90s with NewsSeries 2000. I remember hearing that Gari version on KRDO ABC13 in Colorado Springs (my hometown) when I was a kid. I didn't hear the Lalo Schifrin original until I was a senior in high school and the internet came along. We'll miss Lalo a great deal. Oh, and say Hello to Al Primo for us. Schifrin is now up there with Primo. in the Eyewitness Newsroom in the sky.

I wonder if they'll relocate to some of the space that CNN just vacated downtown...

Here's something new... a physical weather team still in Cedar Rapids, but now using TWC graphics. What an odd mix. Again, its Allen.

Good luck with that. WDFL's signal is very weak and unless they significantly upgrade it, more people will access ABC Miami via WSVN 7.2 than WDFL 18.1.
