  2. Update WPSD has started broadcasting, as of this week, from their new location at The Paducah Sun building. However, their new set is not quite ready yet. Therefore, they're in a temporary setting in a corner of the new studio that'll debut after the 4th of July. https://www.wpsdlocal6.com/news/wpsd-temporary-set-to-be-upgraded-in-july/article_073d349a-b6f6-416e-a0cb-4b04181d6603.html
  3. Today
  4. A behind the scenes look at the new VR stage. Pretty large so I guess they don’t have to “move” the scene around to make it look bigger. Looks like it has two Artimo and a jib.
  5. Gray's Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network + TEGNA's Locked On Sports Podcast Network = Starting Monday, June 16th, four of the Locked On Sports podcasts will be seen from 10:00 am-12:00 pm CT on GCSEN. They are Locked On Saints, Locked On Pelicans, Locked On LSU, and Locked On SEC. https://podnews.net/press-release/gulf-coast-locked-on
  6. Ah, got ya, okay. Thank you @Weeters! Yes, that set probably had some years left, but if they wanted to be in the AR/VR space, then something had to give.
  7. The old version of the O&O set, like KOVR and WCBS have.
  8. Can someone remind me what the old studio looked like? I know he didn't say the current KCBS/KCAL set, which is also in use at KCNC and WBBM, correct?
  9. Idk about the last part of that, but agree, it’s shame they gutted the studio, and agree, it was still a good set.
  10. Just noticed that the writer was a former KYW sports staffer (see the bio at the bottom), so that probably explains why they're a little testy about the station now. I'd just use 'channel 3' myself, but it's Philly media and you know how they can get.
  11. As an outsider, it makes them sound like an illegitimate source. Either call them by their brand, or just stick to the calls. Be professional.
  12. The WGN Morning News team are full of professionals, right? Yes, but also no. At least Dan tried to be when it comes to sports... but failed miserably on Tuesday. So yesterday, he got "fired" from the segment and they found a replacement...
  13. Inergy was pretty good I thought…
  14. Love how gung-ho Crossing Broad is in this article, not wanting to recognize KYW's news as it is, sticking to Eyewitness News, much like the person who started this thread, not changing the title. Heck, it sure sounds better than generic CBS News Philadelphia or whatever other O&O city it is, outside of the ones using call letters to ID their news.
  15. Not sure if this is in any way related, but Don Bell was in for Ukee at 5, 6, 8, and 11, even though Siafa was available, and even reported from the newsroom at 11
  16. Why? Because they keep hiring SAM.
  17. Terry Moran speaks out. His next act: Substack. https://www.threads.com/@terrymoranjournalist/post/DKxy6ESxpE5?xmt=AQF0ykug5We3Dt7vnmPlx8Y0bvCm3z9dglgIDg2ee2ij0g
  18. You'd be on the mark because they've already got a case study up... https://defiantla.com/work/scripps-news-group-rebrand/
  19. Hear me out. KVVU no longer has one sports-related channel... now they have TWO. One is the Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network, but now they've recently launched 5DRVtv (5 Drive TV). Outside of Local News LIVE from 4-6 am, 11 am-12 pm, and 4-5 pm (7-9 am, 2-3 pm, and 7-8 pm ET; which seem to be the main newscast timeslots for that streaming network), the schedule is devoted to all things cars and motorsports with programs such as Moto America, Race Central TV, Music City Trucks, Detroit Muscle, PowerNation Builds, etc. Some of these programs are also seen on SSSEN, but that's more aimed towards general sports, whereas 5DRVtv (KVVU-DT 5.4 by the way, which replaced Dabl) is focused on cars and motorsports. This may be the first such local digital subchannel I've heard of. EDIT: Another thing... Despite Gray not having a Telemundo presence in Las Vegas (because you have O&O KBLR Channel 39), KVVU went ahead and launched Spanish-language news and weather content anyway with Vegas Hoy. https://www.vegashoy.tv/

    In Memoriam

  21. Yesterday
  22. It's a shame they gutted that studio. It was still serviceable and could still run circles around other sets in the market. I wish it could have remained somewhere else on the Radford Lot.
  23. As was already said, it’s leased by Disney, not owned. A private investment group owns it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1500_Broadway https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamares_Group
  24. Yup. Looking at the 4p now, no new graphics
  25. I meant the Times Square building. Cause Times Square Studio is owned by Disney iirc.
  26. Didn’t the prior set have surfboard wings on their desk as it was circular like CBS This Morning?
  27. The new one? The Disney Company. As for the Concerts, it probably wouldn't be bad to eliminate them, at least as a weekly thing. They used to be a big ratings grabber because they used to get big names and well-knowns every week. Now, it seems to be mostly up-and-comers and lesser-knowns. It was partly a way to keep viewers tuned in during the Summer and especially to pull them in on Fridays. It made the sponsor, the network, and the corporation (GE, Comcast, Disney) happy. It made them money, as did the artists and bands. While the shows are still profitable, they are not as profitable as they once were and certainly don't get the ratings they once did, even when they go with a well-known artist.
  28. Just only seen pics and vids on the socials, but this looks like a downgrade, this is coming from a guy who thought the last studio set was amazing and felt it was probably the best in San Diego.. The surfboard screens look so gimmicky. I, too, am concerned about anchors falling off their chairs from the back? Those chairs better have brakes. Fox5 also had a nice patio space area, I'm not really into KUSI's outdoor space. I was hoping that this set and KUSI's would be designed similarly to KTLA's and WPIX's.
