I'm looking for a little help. I recently bought an HD Home Run Tuner and have it connected to my Plex server. The issue is that some of the program information Plex provides (via Gracenote, I believe) is incorrect. I've read that it's possible to build your own programming guide using open-source apps and something like Schedules Direct, but I have no ideas beyond the basics. One complicating factor is that I'm using a Mac, and I'd like the solution to stay in this ecosystem. Any ideas? Thanks!

Now we have to add Friday, May 30th for Carolyn Long for retirement from KCTV 5 Kansas City after nearly 30 years there. https://www.adweek.com/tvspy/carolyn-long-to-leave-kctv-after-nearly-30-years/ As mentioned in the KABC thread, today is Ellen Leyva's at the station but there are other anchors having their last day today too and I mentioned it a while ago but here's your refresher... • WRAL's Debra Morgan at 6pm ET after 32 years. • KENS' Deborah Knapp at 5pm CT after 38 years with the station and 50 in journalism. • WHIO's Cheryl McHenry at 6pm ET after 44 years (she already no longer does the 11pm). • WXIX's Steve Horstmeyer after 17 years there, but 48 in Cincy TV (delayed from March). Don't know his final newscast time. Retirement season is here as the "sweeps" period comes to an end. I hope some of y'all can record final newscasts for these LEGENDS of the broadcast business. It will suffer greatly as a result of them exiting the biz.

I blame the Canadian media landscape for this, it wouldn't of happened had companies like Bell, Rogers and Shaw/Corus not payola the lawmakers but money talks so whatever.

Today is Ellen Leyva's last day at ABC 7. The station has been doing farewell messages as they go to break all day. -
Canada TVA is in serious financial trouble. Despite capturing a large chunk of the Quebec TV audience, TVA is still financially struggling and with it, more job cuts are coming. https://www.quebecor.com/en/-/groupe-tva-la-p-c3-a9rennit-c3-a9-d-un-diffuseur-priv-c3-a9-est-en-jeu

Bringing this up here because it involves Robin Roberts... Her, her brother Lawrence and yes, her sister, the legendary Sally-Ann Roberts in her post-WWL days in retirement, were all on Tamron Hall the other day to promote their new children's book. Glad to see Sally Ann again in her retirement and it shows the love Robin has for her family on doing great things. EDIT: Here's GMA talking about it.

NowBergen started following Charter is about to merge with Cox.

I had the opposite situation. I moved from Cablevision's NY systems, which were quite advanced to St. Louis and had to settle for Charter. Besides poor installation that had to be redone, and outright lying, there was very little HD, slow internet and worse. It was a definite step way down. After they ddi some work in the area, my internet kept going out every 45 minutes or so (this was even before streaming). This was 2005 and 2006. Ironically the then VP HR for Charter, lived in my complex, though that is a role that is extremely temporary with that company. After lots of investigation, digging and more, they were incapable of finding the issue. I finally threw them out for DirecTV and ATT internet (slow but at least reliable). Horrendous experience and biases me against Charter today. Note I also moved away several years later back to Cablevision territory, which has gone down hill since Altice purchased it. What it does mean there is no more speculation that Charter will purchase Altice at this point. Their only partner seems to be Comcast, which in NJ would make a lot of sense since Charter's area is very limited right along the river.

They don't need to shop the shows; they same-day repeat on Nosey, which is on a KVEA sub and so many FAST providers. KCOP would've had them months ago if they wanted them, and I really don't expect KCAL+ to last much longer if new ownership comes in.
-
I didn't know this show was still in production. I thought NBCU Syndication was airing re-runs of it for the past several years....
-
I don't think either of the two airs in San Francisco or Denver as well
-
Not that I would watch either show, but neither one of these shows airs here in Los Angeles (it hasn't in the last couple of years), as KTLA's continual news expansion and the late-night lineup of sitcoms, not to mention KDOC going all-religious, displaced Wilkos and Karmano locally. NBCU is better off shopping to the shows to other stations, namely either KCOP or KCAL+.

I doubt he goes to Youngstown unless Eric Wilhelm leaves WFMJ or Paul Wetzl leaves WKBN, both of which are highly unlikely to happen, at least anytime soon IMO. I think he'll go to another Cleveland station. Just depends on who wants to take him.

Not to get off topic too much, but my sister avoided the Dorr tornado by a mile, and my parents avoided the Lansing one by 1/2 mile!

So, they'll be sharing space with iHeart Media in that facility, even though they'll basically have a floor all to themselves.- 3695 replies

Here's an unusual retirement story that we don't talk about a lot of. Usually, its an anchor, a meteorologist, or a sportscaster who is retiring that we mention around here. However, never usually a pilot... until now. KWTV has announced that their star pilot reporter Jim Gardner (no, not the famous one from 'PVI), who's brought us breaking news, weather, and Tornado coverage from SkyNews 9 over the past 12 years, and has done it as a career for 40 years, is retiring. May 29th will be his final day. https://www.news9.com/story/682bd47ae3b5a8f09ad9d1ce/jim-gardner-retiring-sky-news-9?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_KWTV_-_NEWS_9&fbclid=IwY2xjawKYx85leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETF6c0ZOYU1WSkJQbW5TMTdGAR4j7SubBUSdUBZTkHqxXffqZrpQR_kWajnsKu3A0qGAwYmNVodw-N_WLWzqXw_aem_ilxJ0vhKLfgTZo3XXb54Dg

From Wikipedia's page about Skydance: What other chaos? It's mostly been Trump, his pet FCC commissioner Carr, and, before them, Shari Redstone that have caused any chaos.

The Ever-Evolving Gray Graphics Situation...Thread
tyrannical bastard replied to NEOMatrix's topic in Graphics
With those moves, it's more sameness and centralization. Even Cox introduced a centralized package to their ongoing stations. Gray stripping stations of network logos takes out even more, but it's a good preemptive move once the networks start walking away... -
It’s permanent.
