1. That WHTM open is light-years ahead of what they had in 1986. Also, Charlie Van Dyke jumped from WHTM to WGAL really quickly...

 5. Based on what has happened in other markets where Sinclair has taken over, you will see attrition of long term staff (read expensive) and the hiring of very green young talent. They may keep some key anchors for continuity. The biggest concern is the content and tone of coverage as they will insert conservative angles, commentaries, editorials and off the cuff comments. One former NBC/Media General station now owned by Sinclair the last two years (in a very diverse and liberal market) had a morning anchor suggest that the mess up with the Best Picture Oscar was a liberal consipiracy. If I had not heard it myself, I would never believe it but evidently is typical. What they do in NY (LA and Chicago) should be more of a challenge due to the market demographics and complexities. Overall, this is not a good day.

 6. I'd like to see Brian move to 6pm. Seems like the appropriate time for a news show. Greta can move to 10pm. I think Chris Hayes should've been the one to go instead of Lawrence, but oh well.

 7. I hope she has comedic chops. She's gonna need it on days when Paul is off and she has to do the whole show.

 8. Lawrence O'Donnell's future is uncertain http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/lawrence-odonnell-msnbc-future_us_59162d8ce4b00f308cf5534a?ncid=engmodushpmg00000004 I think letting Lawrence walk would be a huge mistake. Some liberals out there are already whining about MSNBC's shift from liberal commentating to centrist news reporting during daytime. Giving Nicole Wallace a show and letting Lawrence walk won't please MSNBC fans

 9. Don't think this has been posted before; WCIA 1976 newscast with "MCTYW" open: http://www.illinoishomepage.net/vault/1976-primary-election-coverage-the-channel-3-news-at-1000pm/400513950

 10. What average viewer is going to notice this? I mean it's not ugly but it's just not exciting. At all. It's a news set, that's about it. A 1995 news set. And that desk may not technically be a two-seater, but it's as close as you can get to one - you can see the weather & sports guys' chairs and lower bodies for Pete's sake. I was watching at 5 to see if it might debut and all I can say is major yawn as far as I'm concerned. Other than that, nice! LOL

 13. With Lionel "on assignment", Erin Kennedy's anchoring the 11am news from the newsroom, but Megan's still streetwise doing weather.

 14. If she's this dry then not so much... see if you can spot the glaring mistake she makes in announcing the warning: This was her submission to Best Weathercaster for IBA... that and she drones on a bit too long for my liking on a morning show... morning weather shouldn't take 4+ minutes...

 17. No doubt has to do with Sinclair's tilt to the right on KOMO and Tegna's absolute gutting of KING's veteran talent. The Tegna buyouts were the epitome of penny wise and pound foolish.

 20. I'll honestly admit that I'm not a fan at all. It's too generic looking. There's nothing that pops on it. Just mega screens with a 90's frame. Just my opinion.
