  2. Also in WJZ news they are loosing an anchor who has been with them for a few years. Said anchor is heading to KNTV for an AM and Mid Day anchoring position. You can probably figure out who but since this was only posted on a Instagram I'll wait. Also: Maybe it's just me but Baltimore seems like a market where people are more willing to stay in once they settle down roots (get married, having a family). If your young and single you'll likely move up the ranks.

  5. He and Judy, solo, appear to be the back-ups on weekends, though with Karen back, they likely won't be needed as often.

  6. Ana seems to be the clear #2 female for the morning news now that Erin is an evening reporter. Larry anchoring the 4am is surprising, though. I would have expected a solo show and/or literally any available general assignment reporter filling in before I would have expected Larry on the 4am show. P.S. Do we have a permanent 4-6am female anchor yet? Could the plan be to groom Ana for the slot? Not sure if she could still do Around Town PLUS anchoring. Maybe they'd give Around Town to someone else if Ana became an anchor.

  8. I don't think CNN would license their graphics package in an area that they cover and the channel is available widely. Actually no, they wouldn't license the package at all as it's a worldwide brand and available almost everywhere. They wouldn't want to dilute the coverage or make it look like a channel is affiliated with them. I do believe CNN does license individual illustrations and animations.

  9. I think it's more "walk up to a designer and say 'hey, we like this new CNN look. Think you could make the same thing but blue?'" Meanwhile KQDS did change ... a bit

  13. Crap. I got the names confused. Still, then-Gannett tried the shell game until the Obama administration's DOJ rejected it resoundingly. Expect NexsTEGNAr to do everything possible to skirt any existing regs, retain almost every single station, and for these crooks to sit back and let it happen. Mat the odds be ever in your favor.

  14. Would Andy Lack even consider Ari and/or Joy as a replacement (if it even came down to that), or just give the 10pm hour to BriWi without any question or thought? Even as they have performed admirably as fill-ins - no doubt aided largely by Lumpy's slow-mo implosion - with the ratings proof for all to see, Lack is certainly lacking in foresight for the network.

  15. Here's something: a short KCCI clip from 1991: And four years later with some by then tired CBS News graphics: (The Lary Lane Morgan story dates this clip to 1995, not 1997) WWTV/WWUP in 1986 (see KLTV 1985): WWTV/WWUP used Tuesday's Action News in 1991: WNEM in 1991, I have no idea: (That's not the 1987 theme)
