  5. Bill Weir filled-in for Charlie Rose today! Could this mean CBS is eyeing him (pardon the pun)? They didn't even introduce him as CNN's Bill Weir. Just simply Bill Weir. Hmmmmm

  13. Things are very poorly labeled. This is actually Jon Fox's broadcast demo from 1990 which includes the WTVJ and WNBC redesign reels, plus KHOU, KOVR, KIRO and a KPNX "Town Hall" open: WPTV on Christmas Day 1989: That KOTV 1991 newscast in full: Edit: A WRBL *reel* with an unidentified news theme! This one is bizarre. Apparently WRBL presented their news in the early 90s in front of a green screen. Also, Rece Davis! The elements in this reel appear to come from a newscast around May 3, 1992.

  15. Ken said in his Facebook Live that they are trying out anchors and we'd see a rotation over the next few weeks. RE: Jeff Rossen -- he was a close second to Ken for the job. He started looking for other opportunities after being passed over which is how he ended up at NBC.

  18. Noticed that too. However, both Michelle and Sandra were off this weekend so it's likely vacation playing a factor. I really don't see Toni as a lead morning anchor though. We could also see someone completely unexpected to replace Lori. Remember when Steve was fired no one expected Ken to get the spot. Weren't the top contenders originally Phil Lipof, Jeff Rossen and Joe Torres?

  19. Thanks for the reply Metrodonmartin! I remember seeing KOVR debut the set above in April of '87 (or '86.. my old timer memory escapes me at the moment) and thought it was a huge step up for them at the time. But the desk was a leftover from their prior chromakey set; they must've been too cheap to get a new one fabricated to match the new set. Lol
