  1. He was based in Cleveland, according to information WNOL provided to a viewer letter in the Times-Picayune's TV section about one of their movie spots. He also did a lot of work for Showtime and HBO, much of which you can see on YouTube.

  8. Steve Greenberg posted a video to Twitter on 2/21 that showed the windows to 1A covered. It maybe nothing, however I don't foresee a full studio overhaul (if any work was done).

  13. More of that CFN stuff... This is a good piece because it shows how CFN was operated (a smaller operation than AFN or BFBS, which we've seen before). It was the final Canadian-produced program before yielding to AFN as Canadian Forces Europe wound down. It is from 1994, not 1992. It discusses briefly how the loss of the Olympus-1 satellite caused them problems, too.

  15. I suspect Mr. Perry was based in Cleveland. I recall hearing his voice on a spot on the then 3WE radio (now WTAM) for the Cleveland Symphony (at Severance Hall). The WILX link to him makes sense, because at that time the station was owned by Cleveland-based conglomerate ATO, which morphed into Figgie Communications. I believe there is (or was) a promo for Dayton's WHIO-TV's Newscenter 7 that used Mr. Perry's talents.

  16. The announcer on that Cronkite spot, as well as the WPXI/WILX/KCPQ opens, was Bob Perry. He also did some voiceovers for WNOL (New Orleans) during their pre-Fox/CW days.

  19. I posted in the Speculatron last week that KGWC was going to lose CBS, not knowing this was going to happen. Their affiliation agreement is up in June. When Gray signed a new deal for its CBS affiliates last year, and when they started buying LPs around Casper, I had a feeling it was curtains for KGWC. Mark Nalbone is making out like a bandit.

  25. I have literally no idea what's going to happen with the affiliations. Gotta admit, television in Wyoming is kind of a mess as is, and some of that's simply because of the DMA lines.

  26. We have a NEW M&A tonight. Gray is bulking up in Wyoming. Gray will acquire Mark III's KGWL/KGWR for $15.7M ($15,716,667). KGWC will be spun-off to an indie buyer. Legacy Broadcasting will acquire Silverton's KTWO (and its sats) for $1.5M. Plus they'll be getting the Wyomedia stations (including KFNB) for $3.28M ($3,283,333). Legacy is claiming KFNB as the fifth-largest rated station in Casper, and its MeTV LP station KYWF-LD as the fourth largest.
