  4. Truth be told, I'm shocked they didn't just order daily versions of Match Game and Pyramid for 1PM instead. The nighttime versions are solid, they both tape in New York and I have to think it's cheaper than hiring a whole new crew at ABC News for this.

  6. Ahhhhh... Classic WSVN prior to its dramatic change later in ‘88 to tabloid news (and giving Scott Chapin his big break as the voice of tabloid TV). I bet the change was to hype up the switch to Fox. Whatever it was, it worked because ‘SVN not only climbed to the top in ratings but it also paved the way for what newscasts would look like for a Fox station for years to come.

  11. I can't see Lara being too heavily involved in the show, since she only works three days a week now. I wonder if ABC is looking for new talent for the program, or hiring from within. If they do a four person panel, I could see them moving Sara Haines over from The View, she is much better at entertainment, Pop news, and celebrity interviews then she is at the political stuff on The View. Paula Faris, Gio Benitez, T.J Homes could all be likely if they are hiring from within. However, they might want a fresh face, and look for new talent. I wonder if Josh Elliot might be coming back into the fold. ABC President Ben Shepherd always regretted that he got away.

  12. That show is in syndication; it isn't a universal show on all ABC affiliates. They can't and would never be able to move it up or back because of the various contracts they have with individual stations (including CBS/NBC/Fox affiliates). I'm surprised they didn't just bump The View to noon and try GMA at 11am, where it would still be the actual morning. There are a lot of these issues coming; WFAA actually delays it a day to carry it at 11am, while several stations delay it until 2pm same-day because they've got their own noon newscasts. On a big breaking news day? Nobody is going to be watching a tape-delayed newscast from the day before or even three hours.

  13. I'm surprised they didn't do an entire newscast like WRAL did in 2006 with Charlie Gaddy, Bobbie Batista, Bob DeBardelaben, and Tom Suiter did. They did the 6pm show and it was a fairly heavy news night for them, so it wasn't a lot of reminiscing.

  20. News is on noon eastern. They could bump the View to the afternoon. Live is not an ABC network program, but most ABC stations do carry it. Also, the quote you referenced says it from me, but it’s not!

  21. Scott Jones at FTVLive did mention that Whit Johnson might find his way onto the show. He's not always right, but it might be worth keeping in mind.

  22. If it's pre-taped, they could theoretically send it out to them at 11. My main concern, as an expansion of some kind seemed inevitable, is that GMA:PM will be competing with Live! and The View for guests.

  27. New M&A. Looks like Quincy wants to acquire KDLH & WISE outright. I guess since the shift of networks after the Granite deal (each are now standalone CW affils), these two stations are now fifth place. Purchase Price: $1.74M ($1,745,661 (WISE $952,884 & KDLH $792,557))

  28. I wondered if the DFW market would see 4a starts or if they would be steadfast at 4:30a. I have noticed that rush hour traffic does start picking up between 4:30a and 5a. But why change starting on a Wednesday?? Hard to believe it's been nearly 8 years since KDFW led the way to 4:30a.
