  1. Absolutely. The set is really pleasant to look at. The doors are very nice.

  2. I agree with this. Having Alan & Cheryl @ 5,6 & 10 would be best and put them in line with WMAQ and WBBM (not that this matters) in terms of having the same pair on during those time periods. Really no need to give the 6 to Judy.

  3. Since no one has brought this up I think WGN is in trouble. FOX 32 tied WGN adults 25 to 54 at 9pm. Every time I watch they get better am better. Call me crazy I think there the best late news in Chicago. You could argue 7 but I think there targeting a different crowd Rob and Ikria ( I know I spelled her name wrong) are just so boring. I don’t like the new guy on WGN. Rob and Allison don’t have that same chemistry that they use to.

  4. World Tonight with Clive Robertson 1992 - from my tapes. I recorded this as a kid in Sydney. It is classic Clive - famously grumpy and crotchety, with a very, very dry sense of humor, he is even better here than the caricature spoof of him on a sketch comedy show - and yes, he talks about auditioning at another TV station! I also found the themes quite enlightened and classy pieces - worth listening to the long close. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=EKlRgdAzBxA;t=1140

  5. He was there to upstart news at KSTU in 1992, and then left around 1994/95 to anchor briefly at WGRZ in Buffalo.

  7. Some WPXI clips from their “Newsmat” era: The first clip shows Hank Baughman with Roxanne Stein before he was replaced with Mike Hambrick. From what I can gather, they must’ve debuted the “Newsmat” set in 1984 (maybe??).

  10. I always thought that if KYW did a straight forward TV-version of KYW NewsRadio1060 it might just work in Philly. And with CBS News emphasizing "Original Reporting" now may be the time.

  15. Someone over at TVForum wrote this about the deaths of WYFF’s Aaron Smeltzer and Mike McMcCormick and my response. I see what your saying. But what about BBC, ITV or Sky News covering storm? I imagine sometimes they are on a deadline working in their car.

  16. If that's the case, it seems foolhardy - from all appearances Wren had quite a following. Then again, Ansin has a history of shooting himself in the foot regarding talent.

  22. After enough upheaval with Ron and Linda's retirements (haha, one is a semi-regular WCL guest host and the other has a weekly online video show), I doubt they'll rearrange too much. I bet they'll just go with the current back-up structure for when Kathy's off; Cheryl gets the 10, Judy at 6, and 11 could go either way, Judy or Tanja.
