1.
From the same channel that brought you the rare 1991 WNYT clip on St. Patrick’s Day comes a “NewsCenter 6:30” segment from that same day two years later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrRJwJHqjeo Btw how long was Marty Aarons at WRGB? A Reddit post made a joke about how he “didn’t even last 42 weeks replacing a guy that lasted 42 years (Ernie Tetrault),” meaning he wasn’t there long. Also, a newspaper article @scrabbleship shared with me on this thread a few months ago said Ernie retired on May 27, so possibly Marty was brought in to replace him. Anyways, thanks to YouTube channel wpdehistory, I was able to make this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sT45XDVneQ
He was still there at least very early into 1994, as this open proves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4iB2lmOfAU

 2. The new open for WCJB. This is the 6pm weekend report but video doesn't start out the best. Will try again at 11pm tonight. EDIT: Here's the new open at 11pm with new graphics and lower 3rds.

 6. In that case I’d like a Carlos Amezcua and Barbara Beck podcast please... Mark Kriski too for good measure.

 7. Yes actually. Sticking to WRGB, this 1997 clip features a tease during their last image using “Making A Difference”. All I can say is, their 1998 graphics were DEFINITELY a huge leap in quality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNyLUKwZN_0 I can also say the same for WPDE after it got acquired by Diversified Communications in 1985.

 9. As I mentioned the the chat box, changes are happening at abc27 WHTM. They dropped WORKING FOR YOU for a far more generic YOUR LOCAL NEWS SOURCE. And they also dropped their STORM TRACK WEATHER for a mouthful YOUR MOST ACCURATE LOCAL FORECAST. — Matt.

 10. A certain other person often uses the term FIRST on their blog, and then puts a disclaimer at the bottom that some of the info was taken from other sources. And the reasoning is because their first among their “competitors”.
Aarons went from WGRZ to WROC in the summer of 1996 (and his contract was not renewed there when it wrapped in 1999).
He was gone from WRGB shortly after that 1994 intro aired, to answer the question @Info Junkie asked. Between having big shoes to fill and a total lack of chemistry he was a dead man walking regardless.

 19. Steve Edwards, Dorothy Lucey and Jillian Barberie. When you think of those three names, what comes to mind? Well, they're reuniting but NOT what you think. They're co-hosting a podcast called 'OK LA, as we were saying', a litte takeoff of GDLA even with inspired logo, thru 790KABC where jillian co-host 'The Drive' in the afternoon. Started a few weeks ago. http://www.kabc.com/okla-2/

 21. Now that I think about it, the deal probably is NOT legal. KSPR is a low-power station; the previous signal is defunct. That would presumably mean that the order is this: 1 - KYTV 2 - KOLR (NR - KSPR) 3 - KRBK 4 - KOZL Unless KRBK is in the Fort Smith-Fayetteville, Kansas City or Columbia-Jefferson City market?
