Scripps seems to be run competently and have a vision beyond "don't get bought out," so... (The fact that the Scripps family owns the voting stock helps!)

Kudos to Scripps' CEO. He seemed pretty taken aback at the notion.

I think it's only a matter of time before WATN switches over to the full-blown TEGNA look, but there are already signs the transition could be happening soon. Their 9AM newscast was recently re-branded as Memphis This Morning (which may or may not be temporary).

WATN needs it, BAD. It's half Nexstar with the other half being the Tegna look (with the COVID-19 scheme) I'm sure it's all because of the pandemic and Tegna had these ready to roll out to their stations. But it looks really weird and hacked together. Almost as bad as when Newport was schlepping through its final days as WPTY ABC 24 only for Nexstar to save the day by killing their former sister stations down in Little Rock (KLRT/KSAN and stealing their set, literally!)

Not to be that guy, but studio size ≠ set size.

If WFIE got the WAVE graphics, I'd be happy. I'm not expecting it though.

And recent posts from her suggest that the care facility he's at is having a COVID outbreak, and they're awaiting his results.
